First there was a phone interview, and typical interview questions were asked by an HR person as well as well as an employee in the same department applied for. The interview lasted around a half hour. If the applicant passed the phone interview, he or she would advance to the office visit, where they converse with the manager of the department as well as one of the analysts they would be working with. Within a week the applicant will receive news of whether he or she is hired.

it was interesting because they fly you out to Houston, TX to do the interview. it is a little nerve racking because when you are in the city you don't really get to enjoy your surroundings. but you will meet alot of excellent candidates and make some great friends.

The first interview was 30 minutes long, with a panel of two employees interviewing me. They first asked me about myself and why I want to work for Marathon, then asked me some behavioral based questions. The job uses a lot of math and problem solving, so the questions were geared to that. For example, "What is the hardest problem that you have been asked to solve, and how did you solve it?" Overall it was a very good interview.
