Interview Details – Met with a representative at a university career fair, where I submitted my resume. Received a phone call one month later. I was asked general questions about my background, interests, and previous employment before being asked to come in for a one on one interview. The interview was somewhat of a formality in this instance, though I doubt this is the norm, because they needed interns. Basic questions sufficed and I was offered the internship.

Interview Details – Seemed like a very nice place to work. Talked with several employees who assured me the culture was great and the salary was rewarding if you were able to make it through the first year of almost no pay. The interview process was very well organized and included a couple rounds of talking to people and personality tests to assure i was a "good fit". They kept me well informed throughout the process.
Interview Question – What makes you think that you will be a good fit? Answer Question
Declined Offer – Interviewed in Dec 2010 – Reviewed Jan 3, 2011
Interview Details –
Process began with a telephone interview. "Why are you interested in a career in commercial real estate", "What is your background", etc.
The 1:1 interview was pretty straight forward. Basically discussed my resume and my ambitions. I came prepared to ask intelligent questions about the company, the local real estate market, and the specific branch - this was very important to the interviewer.
The personality test was a typical multiple choice, how do you feel about XYZ. Just be hones. No right or wrong.
I also met with two other associates. This was an opportunity for me to get different perspectives and demonstrate my ability to interact with different personalities.
All in all, a relatively low stress interview, but then again I am confident and well-prepared.

Declined Offer – Interviewed in Dec 2010 – Reviewed Dec 13, 2010
Interview Details – Regional Manager was very good at telling me what he's looking for and what's offered at the firm. It was nice getting to know him and another senior associate and a newly hired associate. I almost took the job but I felt that I can grow the business by myself, for myself. The training and team environment was attractive and having a well known firm backing you would be great, but I think in the end, clients will still want to deal with me. I have to have the skill set and professionalism to offer great service and help my clients the best way I can.
Interview Question – What do you think makes an agent successful at our firm? View Answer
Reason for Declining – Ultimately, I want to be in business for myself and earn the FULL commission I deserve by putting in the hard work and time into growing my business. I was very close to taking the job because the team I would be joining is successful with great senior associates running the team. However, reading the posts about the firm and knowing that there is no income for the first to second year is too much for me to handle at this point. I need to make money and I think I can without having a limitation placed on me.

Interview Details – Found out about the internship via my university's career center, sent in my resume and got a call back about a week later. Was required to get credit for internship because it was an unpaid position. Interview was very basic, i.e. why do you want to work here, what are your future plans, etc.
