The phone interview was a deal killer. One of guys giving me a technical interview asked a question and laughed my answer saying "there is no such thing." I explained how to configure it and he still did not get it. After the interview I looked it up and I was right. I am ok with him being wrong about a tech I don't think it is ok to laugh at what one views as a weakness in others.

I was contacted by a recruiter who set up an in person interview. The interview was fairly casual as it was an mid to entry level position. It began very informal: "So what do you like to do?" , "Walk me through your resume." The individual interviewing me spent a great deal of time explaining the role, which I found to be very helpful.

After a couple of days got a confirmation that i was going ahead to the next round
Date/ time was confirmed went to their facility
HAd an hour long 1:1interview with the Dev Director
Another 1:1 with the Testing Head
Had a HR/ compensation discussion over fone after another couple of days

The interview process was extremely fast. They emailed me and asked me to come in. I met with 6 people over 2.5 hours. Most questions were very general and were more to see if I would be a personality fit at the firm. Some questions were specific to the role I was applyng for. It always helps if you are technologically oriented when interviewing at Markit. Any VBA/ SQL skills can only help.

Interview setup by agent. First interview was a one hour 1:1 with the team lead. Consisted of technical questions, logic puzzle and general questions to gauge team skills.
Second 1:1 interview with another senior developer and then with business analysts. Senior developer asked technical questions about java and multi-threading. Business analysts asked some basic finance questions and one problem to calculate. Finally last session with HR person.

Technical test followed by a round with the team lead, then with the HR, then the global support lead in the US and finally the overall area boss.
