Interviewed Mar 2009 (took 3 weeks)
It wasn't too difficult, since it was for a similar role that I had been in previously, just in a different division in the Marriott family. A virtual job tryout online and the S.T.A.R behavioral interview were a bit tedious. Otherwise, it wasn't too bad.

Interviewed May 2010 (took 3 weeks)
I applied online. Was contacted by a manager. 1:1 interview. Then 2nd interview was by phone. I then was offered the job over the phone. The questions were not original. They were read off of a copy and some answers were jotted down.

Interviewed May 2009 (took 2 weeks)
Great company, I actually transferred from the Ritz. They called me in and I did a Gallup Poll. I answered like I thought a "sales person" would. Strongly agree or disagree. A few weeks and I got the interview. 4 managers--2 hours. Lots of rapid fire questions, then more personality ones. Have I ever sold before? (no) Why would I succeed in this career?
Everyone was very friendly, staff and team were all very pleasant. Now that I work their, I take about 2 months off per year and still make six-figures.

Negotiation Details
Not much negotiation. You get an hourly wage and you are on a 100% draw. If you sell you get paid. If not...well I am the last one left from my training class from a few years ago.

Very good interview and would have been hired but had a glitch in driving record in past 12 months which is an automatic no for this position.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Boston, MA (took a day)
I first had a phone interview/screening that took about 15 minutes. Then I was invited to go in for a 1:1 interview with the Front Office Manager. It took about 1 hour. It was your typical interview, going through your resume and asking what you liked/didn't like about each job you previously held. Then, the next part of the interview was a little different. I guess they do this with every Marriott interview, regardless of the hotel or position, but they ask you a series of questions and you have to answer as if you are telling a story. It has to be a true story about yourself, but they want it to be in story form.

Interviewed May 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took a day)
The interview was a 1:1 interview, and a lengthy online assessment. The interviewer was pretty laid back. He asked general interview questions and wanted to get to know me. One of the things really common in working in the hospitality business is if you want career advancement, you have to move to a different location for job openings. Me no like.

Interviewed Feb 2008 in Orlando, FL (took a day)
Very easy. After completing the application, the HR manager will review your personality test results then set you up to speak with an Assistant Sales Manager. Your meeting with the ASM is very relaxing and he or she will ask that you give a pitch or read from a scripted to determine your tone. The interview may last 20 mins. They'll go over the your hourly wage and that's about it. Later that day, the HR manager will give you a call or send you an email letting you know if you're hired and the date of the training class.

Interview was a joke...interviewer read off a list of questions from a list. Very impersonal and it seemed as though she was just going throught the motions with no intention of hiring me.
