I applied online and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Maxim Integrated in May 2010.
Interview Details – Three phase interview process starting with employee of similar position; then supervising manager and finally human resources personnel. Fail to understand such process as ultimately 99% of weight is on direct manager supervisor decision. That said I made sure to cater subservience, agreement, comradery, understanding of vision with management lead.

Interview Details – Applied through the company website, but only received interview after emailing the director.
I was interviewed by 4 employees. The first two were congenial and answered my questions fully and to the best of their ability. The third interview was harsh. I felt that he had predetermined his opinion of me, and his comments skewed towards being negative and dismissive. He was professional, but openly annoyed. One aspect I found to be troubling was his interest in making sure the previous interviewers explained things appropriately, almost in a gotcha way.
The last interview was by the director. He was kind, and asked thoughtful questions about my college job, and how those skills transfer.
Interview Question – All the questions asked were typical. Answer Question
