Interviewed Dec 2011 in Beaverton, OR (took 2 months)
First had an on-campus interview with the hiring manager and then invited to an on-site interview. The on-site interview consisted of 4-5 1:1 interviews and a presentation. Although the position was process engineer, they did ask a lot of semiconductors device questions

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took a day)
The interview was a full day interview from 9am-5pm including a presentation and candidate luncheon. People were very nice and friendly. I got both behavioral and technical questions. The questions weren't too difficult and the interviewer gave hints. The office was a bit aged and depressing.

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 5 months)
Phone interview first, then on-site interview. Mostly technical, quite specific. These people do not have a large picture view, they like to obsess over the little thing they are working on. This makes answering some questions hard if you did not do the exact same thing before that they do.
What surprised me was the honesty of the people who did the interview. Clearly they had not been coached by HR in any way (funny fact: they did not have an HR department for the longest time). Through their honesty I learned the following about Maxim:
1. This company is stingy. And big time so. The managing director still sat on the same chair he got 15 years ago when he started, by the looks of it. Office furniture is old and in need of replacement, but this isn't done to save cost. This is a 2.5 B$ company! Care a little about your employees!
2. The work was described as repetitive and boring by people. I'm not sure how this helps to hire good people.
3. There are little of no growth possibilities, unless you are at HQ (maybe).
4. Everything is centralized and for every little thing signatures at the highest level are required. Unless you are at HQ and have a research position creativity is clearly discouraged.
Overall, I would say it was a bit of an eye opener. I would recommend not working here, unless you have no other options.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Sunnyvale, CA (took 8 weeks)
3 phone screens. The first one was fairly friendly and shallow. The second one was very technical and a bit unexpected. The third one was technical but easy.
The on site interview was about 7 hours long with 1 or 2 people at a time. It ranged from the technical to the behavioral and personality check.
As expected, when I asked questions about the company, the replies consisted of very rosy picture ( a bit far from reality).

Interviewed Jul 2010 (took a day)
The rumour of a new work position opening sparked my interest. I requested an interview based on the experiences I had with other fabs. I realized that the opportunity for growth is very limited in this company but I felt the need to branch out. It did not take long to determine that the position was not to be. But, better than that It did not take long to determine that I did not want the interviewer to have any control over my career or the terms of my employment.

I was sent an E-mail asking for my availability, when I agreed on the dates,I had a phone interview with one of the engineers, Started with simple questions and gradually went into extremely complicated and tough questions, Interview went on for about 45 mins at which point I was lost for words. Responded a week later saying that they wanted to move on with other candidates, by the way this was for an entry level position.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Sunnyvale, CA (took 3 weeks)
Consisted of phone interview that lasted approximately one hour. Interviewer was friendly and asked general questions about resume. He also asked many technical questions which every electrical engineer should know. Interviewer gave a good description about the position being offered as well as what the working environment is like. I was told that I should wait about two weeks for a response but I did not receive any until I followed up and was told position was closed.
