This is a contract position (which can become permanent) obtained through a recruiter who found me on Monster.com. The interview process was straightforward and it was on the phone. I was soon contacted by the recruiter who told me that I had qualified for this position. :)

Since it's my first job I was not able to negotiate that much, but I was told that my hourly pay rate could increase depending on my performance.

- You would be interviewed by several people. Most of whom don’t even belong to your area.
- Hiring process takes around 2 months, which is a lot more than any other Company
-They would expect you to know everything that is to know.

Initial contact was an email to set up a phone screen. Phone screen itself was highly technical and lasted 1.5 hours(!). Hardest phone screen I've ever been through. Must have done OK, because a week later they invited me for an on-site interview. On-site interview was also purely technical - no "touchy-feely" behavioral interviewing questions from Maxim! (Some questions about leading teams was as touchy-feely as it got.) On-site interview lasted ~8 hours, however there were 10-15 minute gaps between some interviewers. Guess they got busy or were tied up with something. The lunch break was also effectively an interview, as one of the two people who took me to lunch asked interview questions while we were eating. Interview format was basically 1-on-1 with seven different people. One odd thing was that one 1-on-1 session was over the phone with a manager at a different site.

Recuiter arranged first. Call lasted about 30 min. Got description of job, a sales pitch on company, then discussed my experience and some general questions about myself. Was told hiring manger would call back. Received 2nd call from hiring manger. Lasted about an hour, all technical questions/conversation. was told to expect a call from HR to set up inperson interview. Got call, but then Director for department, called to say they had changed their mind. not sure why. never spoke with director. later hiring manger called be back to apologize. said director wanted someone local.

A team member asked some technical questions. Then the hiring manager talked to me for half an hour with general questions. After that there was a quiz. Totally took about 3 hours.

An ambush telephone interview of approx. 15 min, largely asking if I was interested. Arranged for a personal interview the next afternoon. Spoke to the lady handling HR first & then both Inside Sales Managers together. Got a lot of info about the benefits of working for Maxim and discussed general parameters of the job. A friendly, casual interview. Did find out they are a bit behind the curve in the IT dept. Have brought in SAP only recently & most everyone still getting used to it. Also physical movement about the building & campus seemed very tightly controlled. Pass cards required for almost every door. They did use a hand writing personality test as well. As I have bad arthritis in my writing hand, I can imagine what the results were. I thought the job & I would have been a good fit but I have heard nothing since.

recruiter called and I just gave it a taste of the job market. The phone screening is really tough then followed by the on site one. The inteviewer are nice but the questions are highly technical and I think I did so so since you can not be too technical on every field that they asked.
