Interviewed Nov 2011 in San Diego, CA (took a day)
I applied for the position through my school's career service website. I got an email from my school that I had been accepted for an interview. The interview was within a week of being notified. The interview was conducted with a manager of the Audit Department. He asked behavioral questions and no analytical questions for the first interview. The manager was nice but not very personable.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 2 days)
Met the company at a career fair at my university and spoke with multiple people. I was invited to an on-campus interview which was a 1:1 with a partner. We basically just had a conversation. He asked about my interests outside of school and got talking about those subjects for 45 minutes (it was only supposed to be 30 mins).
3 weeks later, I got an invitation to an office visit interview. The night before there was a cocktail social at a nice hotel where I got to meet a lot of employees and other students interviewing as well. The office visit consisted of 3 30 minute interviews, 2 of them with partners, 1 with a manager. They didn't ask me any of the typical interview behavioral questions, instead we just had a casual conversation. It was great because I had meet 2 of them previously at the socials/career fair so it was a comfortable and relaxed conversation. After the interviews, they took all of the interviewees to lunch where we got to chat some more.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 3 weeks)
I went to the campus career fair then signed up for campus interview. Within one week was notified that my request for interview has been accepted. The campus interview was 1:1, with questions like "your work experience/ behavior question". 2 weeks later received an email invitation for Office Visit. The Office Visit consisted 3 of 1:1 /30mins each interviews. Lots of behavior questions!
Overall, good experience except the first person that interviewed me was a bit of unprofessional(in my opinion) because as I was instructed into this person's office, he/she greeted me but then turned around working on his/her computer said was writing an email to a client. I just sat there looked at this person for 2 to 3 minutes.

Reason for Declining
The amount offered was less than another firm(B4) and I did not feel the same level of connection with McGladrey as I did with another firm.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 4+ weeks)
Once selected for the initial on-campus interview, they take you out to a pre-night interview dinner, where you can potentially meet your actual interviewer, other employees, and your competition. The next day, I was interviewed by a partner on-campus, where it was very much a conversation and laid-back. I heard back within a week for the office visit. In the second-round, I met with a manager and a partner. Again, it was very conversational, and they asked questions based on what you have on your resume. Afterward, they take you out to lunch with a buddy, where you can ask general questions about the firm. It was overall a very organized and fun process.

Reason for Declining
It was a difficult choice between this firm and another. The other firm was just a better fit.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
It was an on-campus recruiting interview. There were two greeters waiting in the lobby and I talked with them for about 10 mins before it was time for me to meet the interviewer. They were both very friendly, had been at the firm for 1 year, and went to the school at which I was participating in the on-campus recruit. But make sure you have questions to ask them. (generally stuff about themselves, when did they start, have they taken any parts of the CPA, how do they like working there etc). The interview itself was with a partner. He was very friendly and outgoing. He asked questions like, how did I obtain the internships on my resume, why do you like accounting, what is my 5 year plan, describe to me what you did at each of your internships. Thats about 15-20 mins. Then the next 10-15 is questions that you need to ask the interviewer. Make sure these are conversational, and not just firing questions at your interviewer. Act like you are interested in the response.
