Interviewed Aug 2011 in Cleveland, OH (took 5 days)
I had an initial phone interview and was told that the next week I would hear back. I heard back the next day asking to visit their office and have a series of interviews. The interviews were very random and seemed a bit disorganized. They had other managers interviewing me about anything from my resume, to current events, to what my ideal job would be disregarding the position at McMaster Carr. It did not seem that they had a set system, it was more of if you could pass each individuals own test.

Reason for Declining
The company, while it does hire intelligent employees, lacked a work environment that would be fulfilling.

The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Group/Panel Interview.

Interviewed Feb 2011 (took 2 months)
Recruited came on campus for an initial screening. Interview was very friendly, and easy going. Interviewer asked me to walk through the resume and asked some 'case type' questions such as what inventory costs are etc.
I was asked to come on-site to interview. The on-site interview was pretty rigorous, consisting of a tour of the facility, and four interviews with four different people in the department. Most of the interviews consisted of questions about my background and experiences.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took a day)
They didn't tell me what position I was interviewing for until I got there. Then they did various one-on-one interviews throughout the day. They took me on a walking tour of their facilities and interviewed me along the way. Everybody was very nice, but I was more interested in an engineering type position.

Interviewed Apr 2010 (took 1 week)
I applied through my school's career service for the Graduate Management program. In a few days I received an email from a recruiter at McMC to set up a phone interview.
The interviewer was also a particiapant in this program. She asked me some basic questions regarding my background, past work experience, and why am I interested in McMC. There was not much interaction in between the conversation. Following each answer I gave there were a few seconds of silence for which I believe she was taking notes.
What I didn't get were some of the questions were asked, such as "how long did it take you to finish your undergraduate study, is it exactly 4 years or more than 4 years?" "When you finished your undergrad study, did you get any other offers along with the one listed on your resume?" etc. I mean, what is the point of asking these questions? Not only that I finished my undergrad study more than 7 years ago, I don't think that a company should judge one's ability based on how long it took them to finish college and how many offers they got when they graduate. First of all, not everyone has a rich family to support them all the way through college. It took me 4.5 years to finish my undergrad study because I had to work several part-time jobs to self-finance my education. Secondly, I finished my undergrad study during the biggest recession when almost nobody was hiring. I was one of the fortunate ones from my class who landed a job with a decent company in the same year. Those questions only poorly reflect the company's downright prejudice towards certain types of candidates, unlikely the traditional ivy leaguers they chase after.
And of course, the interviewer never replied my follow-up email sent after the interview. After reading the company reviews by its current employees, it sort of explained everything. If you are going to apply for any position with this company, do some homework to make sure that it's the right company for you.

Interviewed Mar 2010 (took a day)
The guys came to campus and gave a presentation the night before the interview. There was barely anyone there at the info session, and both guys confessed that they did the interviews themselves when they were undergrads because they wanted to practice and did not take the company seriously. During the interview, the guys were fairly rude and condescending. I would not recommend.
