The interview consisted of an HR manager setting me up for a phone conversation with a Engineer Manager that I would be working under. The interview was fairly unorthodox, because I felt that the interviewer had little experience interviewing people. Instead of simply asking me questions, he proceeded to make comments, pause, and then just expect me to begin talking. It definitely threw me off my game, but it was good practice. I would not blame this on Medtronic itself, however, they are a strong company and an excellent company to work for.

The manager of the entire department meets with you and he is very intimidating because he hand picks everyone.
great company to work for if u are willng to relocate to san antonio tx, they promote from with in 90% of the time.. and you can move up very quickly

Was phone screened initially by hiring manager, then brought in for 1:1 interviews with three other people including manager peer.
Interview questions were standard and only one was a curve ball, I think to see how I reacted to hearing terms that would be otherwise inappropriate in public setting, but are completely normal in a medical device company.

Very formal. Know all the answers to any possible questions ahead of time. Tell them you will make the number, no doubts. Tell them MDT is the greatest company in the world at least 3 times and make sure you ask for the job after every interview.

Phone Interview, with hiring director and HR Director. Panel interview with 3 directors and HR manager.
HR Manager was from a recruitment consultant background, and you could tell. Directors were good at their jobs. Quick process. Overall impression was good, but they talked themselves up to much for me. Very easy to pass if you tell them what they want to hear. If you just want a job, dont be honest and say you want as per job spec. Good company, good future lots of cash however didnt pay my expenses...

Received an E-mail from the recruiter asking me to telephone her, called then asked to schedule a phone interview with her. Had the phone interview, basic questions about strengths weaknesses etc... was asked to forward sales numbers from a position 6 years ago. Was told by the recruiter she would forward information on to the hiring manager and they would determine if I would have a face to face with the manager. Notified, I was not selected for a face-to-face.
