Interviewed May 2012 in Mounds View, MN (took a day)
Candidates were scheduled back-to-back. A list of 10 behavioral questions were asked. The interviewers wrote down my replies. They did not ask any questions about my experience or skills nor did they comment on my answers. I was allowed to ask questions at the end of the interview. But the interviewer spoke very quickly and kept announcing how many minutes remained until the end. Weird interview!

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Twin Cities, MN (took a day)
I applied online through my college career services, and it was a basic resume referral. Resumes were prescreened and then chosen to be invited back for about a 30 minute interview. After this initial interview, applicants' information are then stored in a database and then recruiting/hiring managers from different divisions of Medtronic will then contact applicants for a second/final interview.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Minneapolis, MN (took 2 days)
Medtronic uses the behavior based method. "Tell me about a time..." Each interviewer is assigned a few of Medtronic's core competencies to focus on, and then they come together post-interview to debrief. They were specific in their questions, and they would follow up if I didn't address the specific scenario they were trying to get at.

Negotiation Details
Part of the value of working at Medtronic is the experience, not really a competitive salary. Use your entrance into the company as your opportunity to negotiate, as any subsequent promotions will be partly determined by your initial salary.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Brooklyn Center, MN (took a day)
I interviewed with the Hiring manager, human resources and fellow team members. Most of the questions were, "Tell me about a time..." Be prepared to give SMART answers. The hiring manager was a bit off script with his questions such as, "How do you deal with someone that you don't like?"

Interviewed Apr 2009 in Minneapolis, MN (took 2 days)
I was initially contacted by a recruitment agency for the same position. Upon finding out that I had already applied for it via a website, they got out of the way and from then on I had direct contact with the HR personnel of the company. Their way of communication was quite personable, the relaxed attitude of the two managers and one HR person present at my interview put me at great ease.

Interviewed May 2011 in Minneapolis, MN (took a day)
The manager set up a time to call me, and we had a pleasant talk over the phone. He directly told me that he would be asking me some behavior type of question. He asked 4-5 questions and offered me on spot.
