Interviewed Nov 2011 in Mountain View, CA (took 2 months)
very interesting interview process but incredibly long. interviewed with about 15 people total in about 2 months. all interviews went really well but i believe it was just one person who said no because of lack of experience in a certain area. would've preferred to have known that earlier
lots of 1:1 interviews and the last round is a half day work simulation where you go work with the actual team and then do a presentation about it. they expect you to take a lot of risks.

Received and Declined Offer
|
Interviewed Feb 2011 in Mountain View, CA (took 6 weeks)
(About 3 weeks from start of interviewing to final in-house interview, due to scheduling for flight of in-house interview. About six weeks or more from introductions to final offer, but was in relatively good contact several times per week during the entire course.)
A few phone interviews over the course of a week or so: general programming knowledge, personality, lifestyle questions, etc. Tried to determine a basic level of competency with web technologies; in addition to basic algorithms, some questions on HTML/CSS, the box model (including if you have knowledge of IE quirks of the box model), etc.
Was flown out for an in-person interview over a partial workday (10am-2pm) consisting of a project simulation, a presentation of what you finished of the simulation, lunch with the team, and three interviews with various team leaders. (Including one interview with an N-Queens-derived algorithm question.)
Very friendly crew from the recruiting/on-boarding team to the engineers to the marketing folks. Great talent (ex-Facebook, ex-Yahoo employees). Algorithm question stumped me, but was allowed to bounce my ideas off of the interviewer and eventually solved the problem by communicating the thought process and getting feedback.

Reason for Declining
