Interviewed May 2008 in Hoboken, NJ (took a day)
Quick and easy. Very friendly. Asked a few personal questions but mostly behavioral response questions. A lot of information about previous experiences and how I handled them or could handle them differently.

Interviewed May 2009 (took 2 days)
They were great to interview with - very quick responses. I interviewed over the phone, which was very short. Then an informal one on one interview. Then an extensive group interview lasting several hours. I spent quite a bit of time with each person which made me feel like they were genuinely interested in finding a good match with the employee to the team.

Interviewed Feb 2010 (took 5 months)
I was referred to an analyst position by a current Mercer employee, and interviewed with a total of 12 people over a period of 5 months. This included initial phone screenings, several phone interviews and two sets of onsite meetings.
Most of the questions were standard (why Mercer, what do you think you bring to the role, do you have experience in this area etc), and each interview was an hour exactly. There was a large emphasis on having me ask them questions of Mercer, and in some interviews they barely asked me any questions at all and just talked about Mercer. The employees I met were mostly smart, professional and friendly. There were a couple of jerks (one guy showed up without my resume and was incredibly rude throughout the interview) but I think most companies have a few of those!
The HR department were very responsive throughout, and I got the impression that they were covering for an unresponsive manager. I've been waiting on a promised phone call for some time, so I'm assuming that I won't be offered the role at this stage.

Interviewed Dec 2009 (took 2 weeks)
Process started with a phone interview with 2 consultants. Then brought in for an interview with 7 team members (3 groups of 2 anaylsts/associates and 1 principal). The interview process was 3-4 hours, mostly questions about employment history & relevance. The principal rarely asked questions, just told me to listen - actually asked me not to speak which was strange. Despite multiple attempts to follow-up with principal, they never sent a response until another team member from another office (another state!) said the position had been filled. very strange process considering i was told after the phone interview that the in-person interview was simply standard procedure.

Interviewed Jan 2008 in Philadelphia, PA (took 2 days)
There were two rounds of interviews - an on-campus interview and a site interview. Both contained behavioral and situational questions, but the site interview also included a case study. The interview process took about 2 months, including the time I had to wait to hear about a second interview and the job offer.

Interviewed Feb 2008 in Los Angeles, CA (took 3 weeks)
Submit your resume through the college recruiting system, then if chosen, you will interview with one manager from the office. If that interview goes well you will have a second interview in the office with a variety of people, most of whom you will be working with if you get the job. The interviews are mostly personality based, nothing too concrete, just trying to see how competent you are. There is a writing and excel test, which is simple and consists of recreating an excel spreadsheet.
