Interviewed Nov 2011 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)
I was interviewed through my school's career services. Interviewer mostly went through my resume and asked questions about what I've done in the past. Mostly typical first round interview questions, such as career aspirations, why you want to work at Mercer, etc. Not a lot of technical questions. Then, she let me ask questions about the company.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Dallas, TX (took 6 weeks)
Recruiter was excellent in following up at every step. In person interviews were the shortest I've ever had, which made it challenging to understand the interviewers perceptions of me and my background. The feedback I was given when told that I was not going to receive an offer made me think that the outcome might have different if I had time to get a better sense of the interviewers perceptions and overcome those.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
The interviewer only asked questions about my experience. It includes tell me about yourself, your experience for last internship. Why do you choose Mercer? I think this is the question that I didn't prepare well. I am the last person he interviewed that day. Apparently, he has no patience to ask a lot of questions.

Received and Declined Offer

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
The second round interview is a day of interviews at the office. There were 4 interviews, 2 fit, 1 quant oriented case, and 1 general case. There was also a quantitative test (but they don't expect you to finish it). Then we had an optional lunch with some of the people at the office. I would advise just doing research on the firm and knowing how to tell a story about your experiences. Also if you haven't taken timed quant tests for a while maybe brush up on that--although I don't think that contributes much to their final decision. Overall everyone was really friendly and helpful, although I did sense some tensions between the Human Capital group and the bureaucratic systems that the overall company uses (which may be more suitable for other divisions like Health and Benefits, etc.).

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
The first round was a 30 minute behavioral interview. It was a standard interview in which he asked questions about my resume. The interview was pretty conversational--not too formal. He also asked some fun questions regarding my interests and what my favorite class in college was. I was invited for a second interview but have not had it yet.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
I had a thirty minute interview with what I would call a "proxy interviewer." He asked me some routine questions and jotted down a bunch of notes. I was interviewing for an actuarial position but the man wasn't an actuary so he couldn't ask me very technical questions or answer some of my technical questions.

Interviewed Feb 2009 (took 3+ months)
The hiring process consisted of multiple interviews with individuals at a Principal or Pertner level, phone interviews with HR, a personality test (to determine suitability), a psychological interview, and math and essay exams.

Negotiation Details
There was not much negotiation. The positions have bands of compensation that the Mercer hiring manager can offer you with fixed % possible for bonuses (which I never saw awarded up to the potential amount, so the upper strata of these bands and comp levels are largely HR fictions). That said, there was some very modest wiggle room in negotiating with them.
Other Details
I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, an IQ/Intelligence Test, a Skills Test, a Personality Test, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Jan 2009 in Washington, DC (took 2 days)
After submitting my resume I had a panel interview with 2 employees. They were very kind, informative, and made the processes very comfortable. Within a few weeks they notified me that I would progress to a second round interview. They arranged for my stay in a very nice hotel suite adjacent to the office building since I was traveling several hours for a half day of interviews. I interviewed with three separate individuals, and a panel of two employees over a lunch that they covered. I wasn't asked any skills testing questions, but instead they asked personality questions and allowed me to ask a lot of questions.
