Interviewed Jul 2008 in West Point, PA (took a day)
I had applied for a medicinal chemistry job prior to getting this interview and was contacted directly by the hiring manager about a different opportunity. The interview was a full day, in 30 minute increments speaking with different scientists, mainly PhD chemists. They did ask many technical questions, mostly about the research summary I had provided. There was a dinner the night before with two associate scientists so that you could ask questions about the interview etc.

Interviewed May 2009 in Philadelphia, PA (took a day)
The interview process consisted of (4) 1-hour interviews with individuals that support the area that the position was for. Each interview focused on past experience and each interviewer went into great detail about my resume. I received several technical questions focused on gaining more information about the depth of my knowledge regarding what was on my resume. My scientific knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical analytical development was tested by technical questions in regards to analytical techinques and basics of proteins and vaccines.

I had 4 interviews on the day I interviewed. The online preparation was very helpful to navigate through the process. Was a little complicated to figure out what they were doing, but was professionally done.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in West Point, PA (took 3 weeks)
Applied for the vaccine basic research internship online and got an email from one of the scientists at Merck. He was a very nice, easygoing person and basically asked about my past experiences in the laboratory. It took about 15 minutes overall for his questions and then it took another 15 minutes for my questions (they really talk when you ask questions...it shows interest!), so altogether it was roughly half an hour.

Interviewed Jul 2008 in West Point, PA (took 2+ weeks)
The hiring process was not difficult at all. It started with a very casual phone interview with the hiring manager and then I was brought in for a full day of interviewing with the department. I met with 5 different individuals from the department, ranging from Senior Engineers to the Executive Director. After the process I was contacted the next day with a tentative offer.

Was told that I was over qualified because of my Masters degree. Wasted so much time at site. I was interviewed a couple of times prior to this one for other positions at different sites. All of them resulted in the same outcome. I was over qualified from the beginning. I would not recommend anyone with more than a Bachelor's and 1year experience to apply for this position.

Came out of interview not feeling either good or bad about the experience which I had never felt before in previous interviews. Seems like a good place to work that rewards their employees who go above and beyond to go the extra mile. Being inherently a hard worker, I felt like this would be a good place to work. I am still waiting or an official job offer and am excited about the possible opportunity to work here.

Interviewed Mar 2007 in West Point, PA (took a day)
Standard phone screen by HR. The in-person interview was done by a panel of two. They didn't test my technical abilities too much, I was asked few high level, strategic questions. There were not many follow up questions, so I would guess my answers were sufficient.
I got the job offer over the phone on the following day and received the written offer a few days later. Overall, relatively smooth and trouble-free. I would say there were more concerned about my soft skills (i.e. working in a team, communication, etc.).
