The interview was long, but it passed quickly.

Director, Health Information Management Interview

Director, Health Information Management
Mountain View, MO

I applied in-person and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Mercy.

Interview Details – This process involved a "Talent" Telephone Interview and it was exceptional. They asked many questions; there were areas pertinent to me as a person, specific to being a manager/director, also questions relative to my past career history, as well as, my strengths and weaknesses. I found this process to be extremely enlightening. I felt that it gave me the opportunity to see if this was an organization I wanted to work with as well as if I would be a "right fit" for them.

Interview Question – What has been my biggest disappointment in my career.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – Very simple and clear cut.

RN Interview

RN
Saint Louis, MI

I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Mercy in September 2012.

Interview Details – Took about 2 months to get hired on after my first contact with HR. had three interviews, one with Hr, one with manager of dept, and one with other staff/nurses of dept and then I had to shadow a nurse for about 4 hours. Nothing too special or too difficult during HR interview

Interview Question – Typical hr interview, dept interviews were more of them telling me how dept ran. They didn't ask questions, so I had to use my list of questions, which they basically answered while telling me about the function of the dept   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There was no salary negotiation, nurses are paid per guidelines of years worked, not experience. I worked with a RN who had worked at Mercy for 15 years, 10 of which she worked as a tech and 5 as RN. I made more money than she did because I had 8 years nursing experience. They didn't give her "credit" for the 10 prior years she worked there. I think this is the case in all hospitals though

Applications Developer Interview

Applications Developer
Chesterfield, MO

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 4 months - interviewed at Mercy in October 2013.

Interview Details – HR interview, first round phone technical screen, second round in person technical screen, 3rd round Mangers round. HR on boarding interview. Offer negotiation.

Interview Question – unexpected - Are you eligible to work in US? my answer was Yes. No follow up questions were asked and i haven't followed it up with my H1B sponsorship. The rookie recruiter was rude and said the company is not sponsoring H1Bs anymore.   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – they after offering the job said they cannot sponsor H1B, even though they have been hiring others and sponsoring H1Bs. This looked like discrimination.
