I applied online - interviewed at Michael Kors in October 2013.
Interview Details – I applied to a store that hadn't opened yet, so I emailed my resume and cover letter to the district hiring manager. After a month I emailed her again. Three days later I received a phone call to come in for a quick chat. The questions were very standard and I was told that I would hear back by a certain date if I had gotten the job.
Interview Question – No questions were particularly difficult, but the interviewer did ask me three times if I had anymore questions, even though I had already asked three. Answer Question
I applied through an employee referral and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Michael Kors in June 2013.
Interview Details – I was referred by my friend who had just been hired. It is a new store location here in Seattle. I felt pretty confident doing retail for the same company for 11yrs. I had 2 interviews, both very professional, asked appropriate questions, and were very comfortable and focused. Which I appreciate doing interviews myself for so long. It was a good experience.
Interview Question – They asked me who my favorite designer and fashion icon was. View Answer
Negotiation Details – It's just a fun job to keep me busy. I didn't negotiate. I'm only 15hrs a week with a set schedule.
I applied through college or university and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Michael Kors.
Interview Details – Group interview. Have to choose an item and sell it to the manager. Second interview work for free and let them see how you work in their environment
Interview Question – Nothing crazy actually probably because its a part time job Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I requested a higher amount than what they were willing to give me gave it about 2 hours before calling them back in hopes they would raise the pay but they didn't. I figured I actually am getting paid alot for being in an outlet mall.
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Michael Kors in May 2013.
Interview Details – Well I was recruited by the store manager and assistant manager. They came into my former job and loved my energy and asked me to apply one day as I walked into their store. I applied got called about two days or so later and I set up my interview with my store manager. Interview went great typical questions were asked. After the interview, I was asked to do an interactive interview to see how I would do on the sales floor with customers. Rocked that out and from there I was asked to interview with my store manager and district manager. Shined bright like a diamond letting them know my qualifications and skills that I could offer the company and awards I have won for being a great employee to former employers. Got called I would say 3 days later with a job offer was a two week process.
Interview Question – I was asked about adjectives that describe me that throw me off a little, but other then that I sold myself show the skills and talents I have. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Offer me very competitive pay for the state of Wisconsin.
I applied in-person and the process took a day - interviewed at Michael Kors in October 2012.
Interview Details – They recruited me while walking around the outlet mall. Interview took about 2 hours and met with three different people. Interview was more about Michael Kors as a company and their polices.
Interview Question – Tell me what you know about Michael Kors himself. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – It was pretty straight forward.
I applied in-person and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Michael Kors in October 2012.
Interview Details – Dropped off resume in person, had an on the spot interview ( so dress for the occasion, even just dropping your resume off!). The woman who interviewed me was very nice. We chatted for awhile mostly about me, and then she gave me some "homework". She told me to research Michael Kors a bit, and come back for a second interview. Did just that. Had 2nd interview, with another manager, where we discussed less about me and more about the company. A week later, she called and offered me an interactive interview, where they send you out onto the selling floor, so see how you work. A couple days later, I was offered the job!
Interview Question – Tell me about a difficult experience in a previous job, and how you handled it. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – The opening offer was acceptable to me, so no negotiation was necessary.
Very Easy Interview
I applied through other source and the process took a day - interviewed at Michael Kors in October 2012.
Interview Details – Responded to ad on Craigslist for a management position (misleading and false since position was already filled). Interviewed in the downtown San Francisco location, 20 minutes from my house. The interview was with the San Mateo store manager. The questions she asked did not reflect my current skills at all. Instead she was more interested in asking me about jobs I've had more than 3 years ago. Completely irrelevant, considering my last job at Nordstrom yet she continued to ask about Guess? Inc. No questions about my selling or people skills. After the interview, I was basically forced to work in the store and help customers for 45 minutes without getting paid. All the employees were wearing the newest MK outfits, which suggested to me that buying their clothing was expected. Also, all the girls were expected to wear high heels. This store seemed more interested in how their sales associates look like instead of selling.
Interview Question – Typical retail questions Answer Question
Reason for Declining – More concerned with wearing the latest MK outfits and wearing high heels while trying to "sell."
I applied in-person and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Michael Kors in September 2012.
Interview Details – Went in to turn in my application and resume. Had a mini interview on the spot with one of the managers. Was immediately scheduled for a interview the following week. Had that interview, where she asked me basic questions and what would I do in different situation questions. She also had me sell something to her on the spot. Was called back a few days later for another interview with the main manager. She asked me a couple questions. Was called back a couple days later with a job offer. Make sure to dress very professionally because Michael Kors is a high end designer. Also, do research on the company.
Interview Question – Tell me about a time when you went over and beyond your own expectations Answer Question
I applied online and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Michael Kors in January 2012.
Interview Details – 2 on 1 interview, then a 1 on 1 interview, then an inter-active interview.
Interview Question – Tell me about yourself and why you want to work here. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – There was no negotiation
