Interviewed Apr 2012 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 weeks)
The interviewer was some 10 minutes late and did not find it necessary to apologise for making me wait. The interview itself was pretty standard, only rather shorter - it lasted about 15 minutes instead of the standard half an hour. There were no tricky questions and the person who interviewed me did not really seem interested.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Manchester, England (United Kingdom) (took 5 weeks)
The interview process to join Michael Page was fairly robust, it gave the candidate the opportunity to meet with peers and different levels of management throughout the business in order to gain a broad perspective of the business as a whole and on a local level. Although in a formal setting (and conservative business attire is best advised) the one on one meetings (there were several) were not structured and were allowed to flow freely. My advice here would be not to fall into the trap of over familiarity and make sure to sell yourself professionally and be clear and concise on what you have achieved to date and how this will benefit the business (there is a balancing act to that though... you'll need to get enough of your personality through as well!)

Negotiation Details
Michael Page are honest and fair and take many things into consideration when tabling an offer. It is likely to be toward the top end of what you are considered to be worth, so before getting deep into negotiation consider how much you want the role and how much you could stand to earn in bonus if you are the right person for the role... you push too hard they'll get cold feet and wonder if you really have the ability to make good commission
Other Details
I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview and a Background Check.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 3 weeks)
As a Recruitment agency, Michael Page takes their own interview process very seriously. I had an initial telephone interview followed by at least five 1:1 interviews with staff across levels of seniority including: Recruitment Consultants, Managers, Directors and Regional Managing Directors.
Extremely thorough and extensive interviewing, I found the questions challenging and stimulating - occasionally quite personal in nature. Some interviewees would challenge my opinion and argue every answer I gave; this is to ensure that you are able to handle challenging circumstance.
Interviewers are looking for competencies including resilience, work ethic, determination and team skills. Make sure you are fully prepared for interview and have done thorough research on the company and Recruitment industry as a whole.

Negotiation Details
At the end of my final interview with a Regional Managing Director I was given a verbal offer - I gather from others in the business that there isn't much room for negotiation for those who are entering Recruitment for the first time.

Interviewed Nov 2008 in Birmingham, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 days)
Very defensive interviewers.
One of the worst experiences in life. Had the feeling the interviewers were writing down things and find "gaps" in my sentences so I could be pushed out of the room. No positive feedback in any point of my interview (whatsoever) - If I were to be so terribly useless , why invite me to a group interview after the phone one?
