Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 1 week)
I went to bring in a resume to the manger, he informed me that i would have to apply online. So I applied online, and a week after got a call for an interview. During the interview i was just asked basic questions such as, Where are things in the store, and what kind of art background am i taking into Michaels. And I was actually hired on the spot.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Houston, TX (took 4+ weeks)
You interview with the a recruiter first over the phone. Then you have a 1:1 interview with the DM. Then you have a phone interview with Zone HR and then the final interview is a phone interview with Zone VP. You will get a lot of behavioral questions. All questions start with "tell me about a time when.........and how did you handle it?"

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 5 days)
Received a call two days after I applied online. Went in for interview the next day. Interview was very informal. I was asked a few questions about my interest in the store and arts & crafts. I was also asked about initiative, and my work ethic. I basically knew I had the job by the end of the interview, I just needed to pass a background check. After the background check, I was told to come in with my credentials (passport, birth certificate, etc), and then I started working.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Cranberry Township, PA (took a day)
I applied online. I got a call about a week later and missed it by an hour, called back and he had already left, I was instructed to call back on thursday, I did and he immediately asked me when I wanted my interview giving me a few days in the future. I went the next day at 4. I walked in and asked for the person who called me. He took me into the crafts room, looked over my application and asked me if certain things were true, And then said I was hired. The entire interview lasted maybe 5 minutes and it was very simple. I'm 17 and don't have any work experience either.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 1 week)
I applied online and got a call back in about a week. I missed the initial phone call and called back about 45 minutes later, the woman on the phone told me the person I was looking for had just left and gave me his hours for the following day. I called back the next morning and we scheduled an interview for the following friday (3 days later). He told me that his interviews typically last around 30 minutes and there were other people who would be interviewed that day as well. I arrived for my interview about 10-12 minutes early and asked an employee to point me in the right direction; she introduced me to the person who was going to interview me and showed me the room where the interviews are conducted. When I met the interviewer and he told me he was running a little behind and had one person who was to be interviewed before me. I walked around the store for a little while, maybe a half hour (or maybe a little less, it didn't seem to take very long) before my name was called over the intercom and I proceeded to the room.
The interviewer was very nice and easy to talk to and the interview itself was more of a conversation than an actual interview, but he still asked some of the typical questions. Overall I think it went very well and although I didn't get a job offer yet (this just happened earlier today) he said I was a perfect fit and he was looking forward to working with me. He said to expect a call within the next 3 days, if not later that night.
Details / Advice:
I have never had a job before, in fact I've never even been called for an interview. If you are reading these reviews and feel nervous, don't be! Just be confident, and put emphasis on your good qualities. It would help to be a creative person, in fact I was told that one of the biggest reasons why I was called in the first place was that I had put that I liked to knit / crochet / sew / draw on my application. Another big thing is a willingness to learn, make sure that you tell them that during your interview. Also research the company and prepare responses to some basic interview questions.
During the interview when I mentioned certain things the interviewer would say things like, "I'm so glad you mentioned that," "That's a really good trait to have," etc.. Here are some of the things that I remember getting me "bonus points":
-Being crafty. (knitting, crocheting, sewing, drawing, painting, scrapbooking, making jewelry) If there are crafts that you enjoy doing, tell them that!
-Creativity.
-Willingness to learn. Really make sure to mention this, especially if you don't have any work history.
-Ability to multitask.
-Being flexible. Both in what hours / days you can work and which positions you are willing to take.
-Enthusiasm. This is mostly portrayed in your tone of voice (it helps if you smile while talking :D)
-Being polite.
-Being confident.
-A genuine interest in the job and store.
-Basic knowledge of products / services the store offers.
That's all I can really remember, but all in all it was a great experience and all the employees I talked to were very nice and seemed to be happy with their jobs. I'm cautiously optimistic about getting the job, and I hope my experience can help someone out there, good luck!! :D
*Update* I got a call back the day after my interview at around 5:00 pm with a job offer. My first day was the following monday, along with 7 other new hires.

Interviewed May 2010 in Irving, TX (took 3 months)
Initially sent my resume to a Micheal's Recruiter. She responded and sent me a questionnaire on personality
and experience. My info was forwarded to a creative manager and a phone interview was arranged. This manager reviewed my work samples and asked me about my work experience and work personality. This manager seemed like me enough to have me come in for a personal interview. When that was arranged, it
was a full day schedule. I was asked to complete a test which would determine my business experience, a lot of this did not apply to me because it was geared more for marketing, finance, management, etc... I also presented my portfolio to at least five members of management and a HR representative. One of the members of management I felt was definitely try to unravel me and trip me up. I did not hear anything after that interview for two months. I was then told I was not selected. I did interview again by phone in 2010. I also spent a week creating holiday designs for the manager I was to speak with. She said my work would not have fit for their product but I do feel she would not have interview me If she did not like what I had presented to her. This phone interview was based more on merchandising in the store. I have to say I worked very hard to get this position. I would have been a very dedicated employee and felt that the questions about merchandising in the store were not appropriate for the position I was applying for.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Hawthorne, CA (took a day)
I applied online for Replinishment Associate, but ended up getting hired for Sales/Cashier. I got a call from them a week after I applied and was asked a couple of questions over the phone and then told to come in for an interview a couple days later. It was a group interview with about 10 other people and we were interviewed by the manager and assistant manager. The interview took an hour and then I was told right after the interview that I was hired and was told what I'd be making. The orientation was a week later and that took about 3 hours.
