Probe Engineer Interview

Anonymous Employee
Boise, ID

I applied through college or university and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Micron Technology in August 2011.

Interview Details – Had a phone interview, where most of the questions were about your experience. Then a school interview where there are basic ECE questions - RLC circuits and a few coding problems. You then get an 8 interviews in person interview, where they ask you the technical questions. Study your transistors really well as well as coding and memory technologies, specifically NAND and DRAM.

Interview Question – Does tying channel to ground/Vcc increase or decrease the threshold voltage of a MOSFET?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – My boss was very gracious. I initially requested $60,000, but he told me that they usually offer Master's student a starting salary of $68,000

Senior Software Engineer Interview

Senior Software Engineer
Boise, ID

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Micron Technology in October 2009.

Interview Details – I was an internal applicant for this position and the hiring manager was a very no-nonsense kind of manager. He ran interviews for a week, then made a decision. The interview lasted about an hour and consisted of mostly open ended questions trying to discern how I would handle particular scenarios and what experience I had that I could draw upon.

Interview Question – Since this particular interview was ran by a single person, it was difficult to anticipate what would be asked. The question that was most unexpected, was 'What single word describes your approach to your work'. I ended up giving them a list since I couldn't come up with a single word.   Answer Question

QRA Engineer Interview

I applied through college or university and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at Micron Technology in February 2013.

Interview Details – Attended campus career fair and met recruiter. Recruiter contacted me later that day and invited me for an hour long interview the next day on campus. All questions were pertained to my behavioral skills and some past work experience. A week later I was contacted by HR to set up a phone interview which took place a week after that. Phone interview mainly pertained to my past work/internship/research experience along with some technical questions. A week later I was invited out to Boise for an on campus interview. The on campus interview consisted of 6-7 45-60 min long interviews. I was interviewed by engineers in the group during the morning and upper management in the afternoon. All interviews consisted of mostly technical questions pertaining to my course work, research, and past work/internship experience. At the end of the interviewing process I sat down with my HR representative and discussed how my day went along with health benefits, etc. It was a long day but overall a great experience. My HR representative called a week later and presented an offer.

Interview Question – Most questions were technical and I felt were a means to measure my problem solving skills. I was also asked questions about my past work, internship, and research duties and responsibilities. Specifics included basic semiconductor device physics and knowledge of storage devices.   Answer Question
