Application Details

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at Microsoft in October 2009.

Interview Details

Was referred by a friend to the position. Had an initial informational discussion with the hiring manager before I submitted a formal application online.

Was invited to an interview loop in Redmond (Microsoft covered the travel costs). This was a in depth full day process. It started with HR - mostly behavioral, followed by a series of 3 interviews with a potential peer (technical), Hiring manager (mix of process and behavioral) and skip manager (all behavioral). Following that interview there was an informal interview with the GM. Overall, each interview was 90-120 minutes, the interview with the hiring manager occurred over lunch.
