The selection process comprised of three rounds of interviews. First was technical round. There many technical questions were asked along with testing analytical skills. Next similar round was there, but difficulty was more, questions were more on past experience. Finally the HR round.

I'd applied to the firm seeking an opportunity to work in a smaller ambitious firm. After hearing a lot of positive reviews by the media, I thought it would be a good place for a consulting role. After the phone interview, I was promised another interview on a date. Making all arrangements to take the interview, I never heard from them. After 2 weeks, I get a call that some senior and "expert" Director of XYZ at MindTree is going to have a discussion with you. I was impressed at the attention they gave to my application but later came to be proven otherwise. I was interviewed by this Director who didn't even speak proper English, was very proud and arrogant. The most irritating part was that he didn't even know my name and called me a name of his choice throughout the interview (this was very irritating). The interview was lifeless and he asked a few questions which I answered. He later asked me a question from my area of expertise and he had a different view on the answer which was completely wrong. Even a quick Google search will prove that he was wrong. He wanted me to accept his answer, which I didn't and I stood firm with what I knew was right. In the end, I asked him for feedback on the interview and he explained a wrong understanding of the concept. All in all, poorly planned interview (didn't even know my name) with incompetent Director level person. Avoid at all cost unless you have no other option. If you're looking for applying new skills or specific high-value skills you've learnt, please stay away. A poor interview only reflects how bad the work life would be under these people.

Hi, I attended the interview at 10.00 a.m in the morning on a Saturday. The Process was as follows
I was asked the following questions -
1. What is a copy constructor? what is its purpose?
2. What is the difference between the list and an arraylist?
3. What is a delegate? How is it type-safe?
4. What is the difference between an abstract class and an interface?
I was able to answer the 3rd and 4th questions from the above
Apart from the above questions i was asked to write some programs -
1. Write a program to check whether the number is a palindrome.
I studied this in B.Tech....but i even i didnt know what a palindrome was. I was given some examples
1221, 121, 2332 etc.
My Ans -
I worked out an example for a 4-digit number
digit1 = num / 1000; // Get the 1st digit
temp = num%1000;
digit2 = temp/ 100; //Get the 2nd digit
..
In Similar way i got the 3rd and 4th digits and then
i compared 1st and 4th digits if they were same then
i compared 2nd and 3rd digits...if they were same i would declare the number as a palindrome.
I was asked to do the same for a n-digit number which i couldn't.
2. write a program for which
the input array is a[100] = {0,1,0,0,1,0,1,1,1,0,...........1,1,0} ; (Array Contains Only 0's and 1's)
The O/P should be a[100] = {0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0...........,1,1,1};
(All the zeroes should be arranged from the start and all the 1's should follow till the end)
My Ans - I Told the logic that i would be parsing through the array and whenever i found a ' 1 ' , i would swap it with the next '0' in the array.
For this logic i used two loops. I was told that the procedure was correct but was asked to optimize the code(Use Only one Loop) which i couldn't
I was not selected. The interviewers are concentrating more on programs(some of them i didn't even hear after my B.Tech 1st year Ex- Palindrome).
My suggestion is to be well prepared with some basic programs which we might have done in our B.Tech.

I had been shortlisted for the position of a Business Analyst. First there was a telephonic round where another BA from Mindtree called me and conducted the interview. During the course of the interview, I was asked the reason why I was looking for a change of job, to which I replied that the main reason for me looking out was to shift from the Commercial banking domain to the Investment banking domain. Overall the interview went quite well and I was told that there would be another round of interview in person.
A couple of days later the face-to-face interview was arranged and the interviewer was a senior consultant in Mindtree. This is where things went not quite right. I was again asked the same question - reason for change - to which I again gave the same reply. This is the point where the "senior consultant" started getting agitated and said we are not looking for someone in the Investment banking side but we want someone who will be a part of the growing Commercial banking team and went to the extent of saying if I was not interested in the Commercial banking domain, then we were wasting time having the interview.
This is where I decided that no matter what, I am not going to take this up and vowed never to apply here again. Such a gross miscommunication I feel is highly unprofessional and ultimately I was blamed as if I had not mentioned my objective clearly.

The staffing consultant sent a hiring mail and I responded with my updated resume. The phone interview was scheduled for the afternoon 3 days later.
The call was a conference call with the interviewer being present with another colleague of his [perhaps the manager].
The interview started off with the basics of Java in terms of architecture in how a Java program is executed in the environment. Later it progressed into some detailed topics like Threads, Stream classes and Collections.
The questions were not prepared and were more dependent on the answers being given. So I am assuming that the direction to the interview can be controlled by the interviewee.
They are looking for people who are strong in the fundamentals of their programming language [viz. Java here]. It will be easy for a person to clear this round with a strong fundamental background.
I do not know how many more rounds there would have been if the phone interview was cleared.
