Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 2 days)
Interview process consists of 3 rounds, and I made it to round 2. First round is with an HR individual who asks many common interview questions. In round 1, they also ask you to write a sample memo based on a hypothetical fact pattern that they give you. I was told by this HR individual that the position was not in any specific department, but instead, they try to determine whether you are the right sort of individual to work in the attorney general's office. As she described it, if you fit their idea of an ideal candidate, the Attorney General decides which practice area you will be in for the office.
Second round is with an attorney in the office. I did not have a positive experience with this interviewer, as he wished me to state with certainty what my practice area interest was. When I expressed interest in a couple areas, he said that he believed those areas were not in need and appeared to "write me off." I was not called back for the 3rd round.
