Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 5 days)
The interview process was really smooth compared to others in the past. First, i received an email saying that the company was interested in me and I received a call from HR the next day i think. They seemed interested and they invited me for a face to face interview. I was interviewed by 4 or 5 person and the all were really nice and wanted to get to know me and see what i would bring to the Team. After the interview i got an offer 2 or 3 days later and I started 1 or 2 days later. In general it was a really good interview process

Interviewed May 2011 (took 1 week)
The recruiter called me first, had a short conversation. Both sides showed interest. He arranged a phone interview for me, which was held two days later, mostly consisting of technical questions. The recruiter subsequently called to schedule face-to-face interview. Due to inability to come onsite, the interview was conducted via video conferencing. I had six 1:1 talks with director, hiring manager and engineers, questions covering a variety. At the end of the same day, the recruiter called again to show satisfaction. Salary negotiation ensued. We reached agreement the following day. The whole process is pretty smooth and quick.
Negotiation Details
There is some room for salary negotiation, but benefits seem fixed.

Interviewed May 2011 in Emeryville, CA (took 4 days)
My initial contact with the company was through a recruiter that found my resume online. An email was sent asking for day to have a phone interview. Before the interview, I brushed up on my programming languages (Java) and algorithms. The phone interview was technical. I was asked questions about the skills/programming languages on my resume and a few problem solving and algorithm questions. After 1 day, I received a call to schedule for an on site interview. The on site interview was a 1:1 interview with 6 different employees. Each interviewer had a problem solving question or an basic coding algorithm they wanted me to write. The questions were okay if you reviewed your programming languages and algorithms. Also, on the same day I did not get to eat lunch so they bought me a sandwich. This was nice of them. Overall the interview process was fast. I received a reply within a day after my on site interview.

Interviewed Jul 2011 (took 5+ weeks)
The outcome of this interview--particularly the final stages--was very surprising to me, given the good things i had heard about MobiTV. I had a promising phone interview with the hiring manager (CMO), and was invited to come in for an interview about a week later. I met with the CMO and five other executives. I had a very good feeling about the interviews, particularly with the CMO. At the end of the day, I met with the HR assistant, with whom I had spoken on the phone for the initial screening. At that time, he indicated that my prior salary was much higher than they were offering, but I told him that salary was not my first consideration, and to put it aside for now. When he met me at the end of the interview day, he asked me if I had any other interviews with other companies. I told him, truthfully, that I had one the coming week. Strangely, he asked me if I would cancel the interview if MobiTV made me an offer that day. I was quite taken aback, given that the executives would not by then even have had a chance to discuss my meetings with them. I told the HR assistant that I wasn't sure, and that I think that all concerned would probably want to discuss it.
I sent my thank you emails to everyone with whom I met. The only response, from the CMO, was to ask if I would be available the following week for a phone follow-up to gauge my interest and fit. I emailed him back with available dates and did not hear back for two weeks. So I sent a follow-up email to the HR assistant and also heard nothing. Then, I received an email from the CMO saying he would like to consider other candidates during that week and that HR would keep me apprised. Two weeks passed without hearing anything, so once again I emailed the HR assistant. Nothing. Left a voicemail. Nothing. Another week passed, along with my interest in working for MobiTV. However, for the heck of it, I sent an email to the CMO asking if there might still be an opportunity for me, inasmuch as I hadn't heard anything. Finally, the HR assistant called me back and told me he had "bad news', that they were considering making an offer to another candidate, and it had nothing to do with whether I could do the job, but rather that the other candidate didn't work for a competitor. (Neither had I). On that same day, I saw the position newly listed on two other internet sites where the position had not been posted before.
Overall, a pretty unprofessional process, but at least I dodged a bullet.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Emeryville, CA (took a day)
The initial phone screening was pleasant. The first person I interviewed was the Head of QA who I would work for in a heartbeat. He was clearly brilliant and very pleasant to chat with. The next person was with a VP (?), who talked more about industry including managerial politics and leadership I had at a prior company. He was also very pleasant nonetheless. Next person was a Senior Engineer who seemed to hold a grudge about my prior employer since he apparently interviewed but was not selected. I don't recall interviewing him so he probably spoke with my boss who had his own unique criteria for screening. I misspoke terabytes vs. pedabytes while discussing storage with him but I was nervous at that point with that particular interviewer. The third person was with another Senior SA who was very charming, technically savvy, and asked some excellent problem solving questions. The fourth person was someone who rose up from the "Op's" trenches and was very nice and asked a lot of textbook questions but not in an intimidating way. It was clear that I needed to refresh some web engineering skill sets I hadn't used for years. There was a postit note on the door when he and I walked out which made me assume we were done and I didn't make the "cut." All in all, it was a long exhausting process, but I needed the experience because I hadn't interviewed until very recently. The process has definitely changed since the "Manic Recession."

Interviewed Jan 2008 in Emeryville, CA (took 3 weeks)
Interviewed with the former vp of hr. The interview was fairly standard but they really tried to sell the company on being a startup and all of the perks. I negotiated salary via phone and also had to meet all of the founders. They sent a formal offer letter and I started.

Interviewed May 2009 (took 3 days)
I ran across the job on Crag's List and used MobiTV's application form to start the process. The job description for "Sr. Mobile Designer" basically boiled down to 'we want a breathing body who can learn LUA." A week later I had a phone interview with on of the HR folks, and a week after that I was in for an all day face-to-face interview that consisted of seven people interviewing me individually. The impression I got form the interviewers was that there was an underlying agenda, they were not just looking for someone who was bright and could learn, but that several of the interviewers had specific talents in mind.
