    Interview Details

    I came in through a recruiter. I had applied for a management position and she suggested I apply for the Telesales Account Manager II position. Once she got me in, the process was very fast and organized, which really made me want to come work for Monster.

    One phone interview with an internal recruiter, one in person interview with two Regional Sales Managers, and then a third interview on the same visit with the Director of Sales. Rather than a typical interview, these were more friendly chats where we talked about the wild world of recruitment advertising. I got a writing assignment to complete at home, turned it in, and received an offer very quickly.

    My interest in the position was really sealed by the friendly and organized interview process.

    I read in other reviews I would not be able to negotiate, so I committed a traditional faux pas and brought it up in my first (and only) interview with the Sales Director. I don't think it hurt and the offer seemed reasonable.

    Very slow process recruiters are contract employees. Recruiters, hiring managers and human resources don't communicate with each other very well. Interviewing process is very intimidating they will tag team you.

    Interview Details

    Interview process was relatively easy and simple. I applied online through my university's career website and received a phone call about a week later. The phone interview lasted around 10-15 minutes and an on site interview was scheduled for the following week. At the on site interview I talked with the manager of the product management department as well as the other department managers that I would be working with. Overall, all of the managers I talked to asked questions about past working and class room experiences.

    I am a first year PhD student in Mathematics. I was looking for an internship related to data analysis and/or mathematical modeling. I handed in my CV at a school career fair. The representative told me that he would refer me to the data science team. A few days later, I received an email asking me to schedule a time for phone interview. The interview was about 20-30 min. Mostly, the questions were related to my past experience. I feel like they were just trying to get an idea of what my experience level was. The phone interview also contains some standard questions such as "why do you think you are a good candidate for the internship" and "what was the most difficult part of your experience at xxxx and how did you overcome it."

    After the phone interview, they moved me to the final round, which is on-site interview. At the end of March, I went to Monster's office in Weston, MA for the on-site interview. First, we were given a short tour of their new building followed by information sessions given by the HR and people from the engineering department. During the session, they asked us why did we want to apply for the internship. I don't think it was considered a formal question as part of the interview process. But people who were going to interview us were also in the room listening to our answers. Then we moved on to in-person interview. I was interviewed by two people from the engineering team, one of them was the person who phone interviewed me. It was not a technical interview. Nothing very technical was asked. They were trying to figure out what I want to get out of the internship and tried to match me to a suitable position. They also asked about my past experience in more details. The most difficult question was: give an example of a correlation you can draw between two categories of data that Monster collect. They gave me an example: suppose Jack was applying to Job A. Mary, who applied to Job A also applied to Job B. So it is likely that Jack would also want to apply to Job B.

    Interview Details

    Had applied through the company site, and followed it up with their technical recruiter via email. Got a call from them and I had to speak a bit about myself. They called me directly for an interview at their office premises in MA. They moved into the Weston office pretty recently and it seemed to be a really nice place to work. There were two other candidates on the same day. Apparently, there were 8 candidates who were shortlisted and only 1 or 2 were going to make the cut. We met with our tech recruiter and we had small tour of the place and then a brief discussion about Monster, the work culture, the company's plans for the future, etc.

    We were then met by people from the product team. There were 6 people in total and they were divided into three pairs. So, one pair for each candidate and we had to rotate after every 15 minutes. They spoke to me in detail about my experience and what I aspired to do by being a PM Intern. I was also asked to propose solutions or approaches towards a solution for certain specific issues related to Monster and job search sites in general. We also spoke at length about the company. Monster is trying to innovate and come up with new products that would take the company forwards. Also, I was told that there was something very big coming up for the summer and that it would be a very challenging and amazing internship if at all we made. It all looked pretty promising.

    There were two rounds. Phone interview and face to face interview.
    Phone interview was partially technical and more about getting to know about my work experience and past projects.

    Face to face interview started with a question paper which had 5 aptitude questions, then a panel of 3 members questioned me on QA concepts, previous work experience, current education and also some behavioral questions.

    Interview lasted for 35 - 40 minutes.

    Applied summer intern position online in Feb 2014, got interview request email after about three weeks, then a phone interview and a onsite interview during the next week. Generally speaking, experience is great, people there are friendly and nice. There are not any hard interview questions (technical) in the interview. Got offer from HR in the next day.

    Although they didn't ask any hard technical questions, you 'd better still get preparation. For Software Engineering, being familiar with advanced/ data structure, algorithm(all kinds of sorting), OOD and coding techniques are fundamental. Don't be nervous if you dont know answer of questions, that's how interview should be. Just express yourself- let them know how you solve hard problems.

    I was contacted by a Monster recruiter and had a short phone interview. I then had a phone interview with the Sales Manager, then with the Regional Sales Manager. After that, I had an on-site interview with the Sales Manager and sat with a member of the Telesales team to shadow him.

    1. Met the Recruiter at my school career fair.
    2. Got an email from the recruiter to setup an initial phone screening with the hiring manager. Very professional in setting up date and time.
    3. The phone screening went really well.
    4. Heard back from the recruiter that I was selected for the final round of in-person interviews, asking for availability. They have a really detailed process.
    5. I sent my availability but did not hear back for a few days.
    On following up again, I understood that they had held off the in-person interviewing.

    Very weird!
