Interviewed Aug 2010 (took 2 days)
As a Psychology graduate with limited working experience in Hong Kong, I was introduced to the Recruitment industry as a good career path for individuals interested in a dynamic career. As such, I applied and went for an interview for the position as Research. I was venturing other competitors but after meeting during my first interview with several Consultants, I felt that the company environment was very friendly and provided me with a lot of insight as to the day-to-day responsibilities of a researcher- I appreciated that they did not sugar-coat the role but actually gave me a realistic insight. One thing that set Morgan McKinley Hong Kong apart is the in-depth training they provide for a solid foundation to enter the Consultant stage and the open communication with senior management. My first interview consisted of a description of my background and interests as well as my understanding of the recruitment industry. I felt comfortable with my Interviewers and showed my eagerness to work hard as I definitely would be adament to pursue a career where I am my own driver for success. A definite advantage is to thoroughly look through the website to get a better understanding of the company's history and areas of coverage. I was then introduced to meet other Consultants and was provided with useful information on long-term career prospects and the company culture. At the end of the week I was offered the position as Researcher and I gratefully accepted it and discontinued my search elsewhere. With an international presence and an excellent training platform, it really enabled me to build a solid platform whereby assisting my promotion in March of 2011 to Consultant on my desk. To present, I am still provided with learning opportunities and have definitely felt appreciated by the company via their incentive programs and team-building activites. Certainly looking forward to a long-term career with Morgan McKinley.

Interviewed Jun 2009 (took 1 week)
I came across a job ad knowing Morgan McKinley was looking for a researcher for their banking / commercial & industry team and therefore I have submitted my resume online. 2 days later, one of the recruitment consultants from Morgan McKinley called me and we had a short conversation on the phone which was very pleasant. We then arranged a meeting at their office and I had met with 3 different people that time, including 2 senior management staff along with 1 consultant within the team. We talked about my background, their expectations and how Morgan McKinley differ from other recruitment agencies which was very useful for someone who is completely new to recruitment like me back then as they shared different opinion and ideas on the role which gave me a clearer picture of the entire industry. After few days, I was invited back for 2nd interview which I met with other consultants within other teams. The conversation was as pleasant as last time and I was granted the opportunity to meet with different people within the business and that is vital for a candidate to know the culture in there better.
After another few days later, Morgan McKinley made me an offer as a researcher and I basically said 'YES!" right away.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 1 week)
Both the phone interview and 1:1 interview were mainly an informatively session for the HR manager to know more about you. The phone interview consisted of general interview questions of why you want to join the firm or what are your career objectives.
As for the 1:1 interview, it was a more in-depth interview where the HR manager really asked everything from your education background to your work experience and your goals and objectives.

Interviewed May 2009 (took 2 weeks)
I applied through an online advertisement for a position as a Research Associate with Morgan McKinley. After correcting and adjusting my cover letter and resume, I received a phone call from the Morgan McKinley Hong Kong office and was invited to come for a 1-on-1 interview. The first interview was relatively informal, being asked about my time in university, my previous work experiences, why I wanted to get into the headhunting industry. With confidence that the interview went relatively well, I got invited back for a second round interview. This interview was alot harder as it put my relevant skills to thrive as a headhunter into test. I was asked several penetrative questions about the different ways to build a client list and was put in a mock situation whereby I was asked to bypass a certain front-office employee over the phone to attain and generate a potential candidates list. This proved to be a greater challenge than I had expected and consequently, did terribly in this round. Having gone through the interview process, I followed up my application and was told that they will make a decision 'within a few days'. Unsurprisingly, they did not contact me for another 2 weeks until finally, I managed to get in touch with my first interviewer after a dragged out affair of me deligently calling the company everyday to ask to speak to one of my interviewers. Regardless, I was given the usual, 'You did well in the interview but we decided to go for another candidate' answer to my application and thus, ended my short but possibly invaluable interview experience with Morgan McKinley. All in all, the interview was tough and was certainly an eye-opener for a recent university graduate at that time. However, the way the company kept 'stringing' me along for 2 weeks and its elusive nature to interviewees was something that, in my opinion, discredits the company and its image.
