Interviewed Aug 2011 in Mumbai (India) (took 4+ weeks)
The people are very receptive, but ask very tough mathematical questions. The group has very quality people, but was extremely disappointed with the behavior of the manager. His behavior was autocratic and authoritative.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Mumbai (India) (took 2 days)
Interview process consisted of 2 telephonic rounds followed by another 5 rounds of which two are technical .The questions were quite easy first technical consisted of design question followed by basic c++ questions in the second technical ,others being professional fitness and HR .They said they will be giving feedback after 1 day and HR asked me to send some documents and said offer was in review and require approvals. i honestly don't know what does that mean .After that no sign of anything like i mean who are we kidding at least they should inform or not whether i got through or my candidature rejected ,but no they don't care .They don't even respond. This is unprofessional-ism at the best i should say.One suggestion for people preparing for morgan stanley don't concentrate on Data structures and algorithms no one seems to care all they care is C++ with STL and some basic scripting.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Mumbai (India) (took 5 days)
Interviewed for the position of Automation Test Analyst with Morgan Stanley Mumbai during March, 2011.
Got a call from a search firm, who processed my profile with Morgan Stanley, Mumbai. Later got a call from Morgan Stanley recruitment team who scheduled the 1st round of telephonic interview with Senior Manager/VP in the UK. Subsequent rounds went as follows:
1st Round - Telephonic with VP/Senior Manager in UK to check initial fitment, job profile, expectations etc
2nd Round - Telephonic round with Framework Architect in Mumbai (QTP, VBscript, Logic and Puzzles)
3rd Round - Telephonic with Framework Architect/Designer in London, UK (Automation Frameworks, QTP)
After the initial 3 rounds I was asked to come for a f2f interview in Mumbai. Tickets and travel arrangements were done by the Morgan Stanley recruitment team itself. The overall process was well co-ordinated by the HR. The interview process almost took the whole day, and lasted around 6 hours which consisted of:
1 HR Round - F2F
1 Tech Intvw - F2F
1 Mgr Round - F2F
2 Telephonic rounds with stakeholders and automation test specialists in the UK
Received the offer after 2 weeks from the day of the interview. Unfortunately couldn't take up the offer due to some conflicting priorities.

Interviewed Jan 2008 in Mumbai (India) (took 2 weeks)
One of the best interview I had given in my professional life.
Started with 3 phone interviews 1 from Mumbai office and 2 from US. After this they called me to Mumbai office on working day, I attended thinking it just might be HR interview, but had to go through 4 interviews with different people, HR, Tech Lead, unit head and one more person. Very technical and specially liked a rapid fire interview from unit head.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
They took long time on agreeing on package I asked for, finally to agreed but in mean time my current organization offered a package that I could not say no to, though it was little less than MS

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Mumbai (India) (took 4+ weeks)
I have never seen a more unprofessional interview than the one conducted by Morgan Stanley. I had first two rounds of telephonic interviews and then no one came back with the feedback. Then suddenly after two weeks, I got a call for face-to-face interview. I was interviewed by various people (around 7-8 people) for about 8-9 hours and at the end of it I was told they will get back to me the next day. Next day I got a call from the HR saying I was through with the interviews and selected by Morgan Stanley. I was obviously happy. Same day, HR came back to me saying that I will have one more call but it will be a mere formality and not a filtering round. I took the call and then no one came back to me for a week. Later on repeated inquires, HR came back to me saying that they have decided not to go ahead with my candidature. This is the first time I have heard about a company backing out after promising an offer. I would rate my experience with Morgan Stanley as highly unprofessional.
