Interviewed Mar 2009 in Chicago, IL (took 6+ weeks)
Initial phone interview with hiring manager, then interview with colleague. Was invited onsite for group and 1:1 interviews. Company followed up on my references and interviewed them. Initially hiring manager offered a telecommute job, which I was interested in. When I went onsite to interview, there was more pressure to relocate. I believe I was turned down because I was not a local candidate, even though they never came back to me to see if I was willing to relocate. Communication process throughout the process was very rough - I had to keep pinging the hiring manager to find out what was going on, even after he gave me dates he would get back to me. Seemed to be a lot of chaos in the internal company structure.
