Interviewed Aug 2010 (took 2 weeks)
Seems like the position was offered to quite a lot of people. The opening interview itself was with their recruiter, the second was with both the recruiter and manager. They were very honest about the difficulties of this business.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Indianapolis, IN (took 1 week)
Everything went great in terms of the phone correspondence, email, etc. until I got to the interview. I was expecting to be asked questions of why I would be a successful candidate but was instead given a long presentation with all the details of how the position and company functions. It was a huge turn-off and wasn't disappointed when they didn't give me an offer.

Interviewed Jan 2012 (took 4 weeks)
No on-site interviews at the career fair, invitation for drinks and a meet and greet was passed out to those students that they were interested in. Had to then apply online and write out 4 behavioral paragraphs, then was phone interviewed.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 2 weeks)
Interview was pretty simple. Asked easy questions. Main purpose is to understand the sales experience of the interviewer. Having sales experience is the biggest plus for this job. All commissions based. People in the office seemed very nice and helpful. Only had one interview then was offered a sales agent position.

Interviewed Jun 2011 (took a day)
I met them at a job fair and spoke to them briefly while I was waiting for another company, so I was surprised to receive their call a week later. It was straightforward and they were very friendly. The interview lasted about 90 minutes with the interviewer speaking for the majority of the time. They seemed to be more focused on selling the company to me, rather than learning about me. I then briefly met with the HR director and she did a background check and told me about a multiple choice aptitude test that I needed to take. The website link to that was sent via email that evening and it took about 2 hours to complete. They said they'd call with results but didn't. I followed up about 6 weeks later and they enthusiastically said they'd take it to the next level. After the interview, I got a feeling that the lack of additional contact might have been a test to see how I was at chasing a sale.
Reason for Declining
The opportunity is a great one for someone that wants an aggressive sales role, flexibility and autonomy. After learning more about it, it just wasn't a career path that I want to pursue.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Omaha, NE (took 2+ weeks)
In the interview process it was only 1 in person interview that consisted of two people. One being the supervisor and the other person was an actual underwriter. Best advice to offer is having experience in the specific job that you are applying for. It also helps knowing someone that works there.

I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Group/Panel Interview, an IQ/Intelligence Test, a Skills Test and a Personality Test.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Oakbrook Terrace, IL (took a day)
Contacted by a associate that worked with the office manager. Set the appointment. I was on time.In fact ten minutes early. The manager had me wait 20 minutes and then took me in for the interview. Asked me was getting paid important to me? Our interviewed ended there. It was basically a huge waste of time. I prepared and looked professional. He was unprofessional and not properly prepared.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Omaha, NE (took 2 weeks)
Applied online through Mutual's site and was contacted about a week later to set up an interview. Interview consisted of 30 minutes with a recruiter followed by an hour with the hiring manager. The recruiter's questions were fairly typical--lots of "Give me an example of a situation where you..." but nothing I hadn't prepared for. The hiring manager had some questions of her own, plus some very structured questions that had been provided for her. Again, a lot of situational-type questions. Best preparation for this one was thinking of stories and examples from previous jobs that would transfer. Also, be prepared for Mutual's security when you get there--need to have photo taken for temporary i.d. Interview went fine; just felt this was not the right place for me.
