Interviewed Mar 2012 in New York, NY (took 2 months)
Was first contacted via email to set up phone interview. Phone interview was very basic, talking about skills that were on my resume. After phone interview a week or two later, I was sent an email to come to 30 Rock to do on site interviews. On site interviews took about 7-8 hours total, with waiting time and lunch break. The first rounds were with HR people in the devisions they thought I would be best matched with and very basic interview questions. Second round were with supervisors in the departments. People not in the area conducted Skype interviews instead of on-site.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in New York, NY (took 1+ week)
my initial company communication was scattered and unprofessional. after that it was a 5 day wait to speak to next person. did not fit job description exactly but was told to proceed nonetheless. interviewer seemed to care but questions were boilerplate and contrived. i felt as they were going thru the motions and did not want to really interview me for position. lastly i was told that i did not fit the role

Interviewed Mar 2012 in New York, NY (took 3 months)
NBC has managed to cancel every single job I have interviewed for within the last six months. I repeatedly get called in for positions, only to have the job be called off due to a reorg. This has been happening far to often with this company, and is a HUGE waste of my time and energy. Avoid this company unless you have time to kill.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in New York, NY (took 6 days)
Had a phone interview with two members of the CORE program recruiting team for NBCUniversial/Comcast for jobs in NY, PA, CO, or CA. Interview was not difficult, with mostly questions on "soft" skills. Got a call from the recruiter 5 days later to offer a position. Accepted offer the next day.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
The interview was an internal interview - meaning my resume was referred to the hiring manager internally as i was an NBC intern once before. I realized NBC Universal highlights their internal employees so if you're coming from outside of the company, try and meet someone working within the walls. The interview itself was very behavioral. I was asked why I wanted to work at this show, what experiences I had, what I am interested in doing in the future. Not a bad interview at all. I was given the offer right away - I received an email an hour after I left the interview, but from other co-interns I worked with, it seems to vary from one day to a month.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
I mailed my cover letter and resume in early to mid July. Then, the hiring manager called me in the second week of August to schedule a phone interview. During the interview, she didn't ask many behavioral questions, but asked more about why I was interested in the position and how familiar I was with the Today Show. I'd say if you're able to communicate your passion for the Today Show or at least a general knowledge of the format of the show, the interview will go fine. I received an offer basically as soon as the interview ended.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 days)
The interview process was pretty standard. They asked about related work experience, what I hoped to get out of my internship, and when I'd like to begin/end my internship. I'd recommend extending your internship date as far as possible. Working for 1 month as opposed to 3 months is a big difference - you want to be able to see projects out from start to finish.

Negotiation Details
Since it was an unpaid internship it was pretty flexible. However, they want you as close to full time as possible. There were other interns who only worked half a work day and the department definitely took notice and showed favoritism to those who worked 9-5.

I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
My initial interview was to meet with the VP of Product and the Product Manager. The VP was too busy to meet with me yet I had a very insightful meeting with the manager. He explained the job requirements in detail and allowed me to browse online to search other eCommerce websites that I felt worked well from a visual design and user experience aspect.
