Declined Offer – Interviewed in Burbank, CA Oct 2008 – Reviewed Jul 9, 2010
Interview Details – I applied online for a position and was contacted via phone by an individual in HR/Recruiting and not somebody within the department I applied for. I had to complete an additional survey and an interview was scheduled for a few days later. I interviewed only with the person that would be the manager of this position.

Interview Details – Found job in CalJobs EDD website. Submitted through NBC website. Contacted three days later by HR "talent search" individual from New York. Phone interview next day. Following day requested to come in for face to face with 5 individuals. Only three were available but hiring manager was one of them.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY Mar 2009 – Reviewed Apr 13, 2010
Interview Details – After applying you speak to a generic campus relations maanger who weeds out the good and bad talent. Then she directs you to a person you'd be supporting for a 2nd interview. From there resumes are checked and background screens done. They want candidates to know what type of position they are looking for upfront; it shows confidence.
Interview Question – Why NBCU as opposed to CBS, ABC, Fox, ETC. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Negotations were minimal since the internships are for academic credit.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Los Angeles, CA May 2009 – Reviewed Apr 6, 2010
Interview Details – Because it is a large company, the interview process for an internship may take a while. I sent in my resume and cover letter at least 2 months before I got a response. You are then interviewed by an individual from the Human Resources department. If they like you, the HR department passes on your resume to whatever department needs you may be interested in and happens to need an intern. From there, you interview with the supervisor in the specific department and wait for them to contact you.

Interview Questions
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY May 2009 – Reviewed Feb 18, 2010
Interview Details – I only had phone interviews with NBC as I was applying for internships while studying abroad. The interview process was a good experience. Asked basic questions about my resume. Because there are many different departments, I'm sure the interview process varies.
Interview Question – Explain your leadership roles. Answer Question
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Hollywood, CA Oct 2007 – Reviewed Mar 24, 2009
Interview Details –
The phone interview took about 25 minutes-basic info about the job offered, my past experience, and what I was looking for. Approximately one week later I was contacted to set up an on-site interview. After background check and other auxillary testing, the on-site people interviews consisted of arriving at the work site, waiting in the lobby and then 1-1 interviews with 5 directors that make up the Dept. senior staff. I made sure once I entered the gates to the property I was friendly with everyone I encountered (reception, admin. assistants, security etc.) Since the dress code is rather relaxed I never knew who was checking me out for the first time.
I tried to remain pleasant and "neutral" during the initial face-face interviews. (The building apeared in disrepair and I was hoping that this wasn't the typical daily setting!) I found out later to my relief that there were plans (now completed) to upgrade office furniture, breakrooms, carpet etc. I ended each interview with a firm handshake, eye contact and a smile thanking them for the opportunity to interview.
I do reccommend the following advice that I am sure has been repeated elsewhere;
Be at least 15 min early
Be pleasant and address/ greet everyone!
Be prepared to list short term and long term goals (2yr plan 5 yr plan etc)
Understand what unique skills you might bring to Co.
Learn about Organization prior to interview ((website)
Dress UP (not down) Business suit (dark in color) even though the dress code is relaxed-jeans etc. I was told later that I presented a "wow" factor b/c I was "suited".
Don't be quick to judge immediate physical surroundings!
Interview Questions
Negotiation Details – I negotiated my salary. I did some prior research just to be ready. I found out that I was initially going to settle for about 15% less than their range. I'm glad I took the time out to explore other resources to find out what the range for this position (with my skills/ abilty and exprerience) was.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Singapore (Singapore) Jan 2010 – Reviewed Mar 13, 2013
Interview Details – There were two interviews, one with the HR manager and the following with the department heads. The duration between interviews took less than 2 weeks. Upon confirmation, I was required to start almost immediately. Had to hit the ground running as the company embraces the culture of independence and accountability. But thankfully all the staff were very helpful and willing to tutor when required
Interview Question – Opinions on future of media agencies, but generally questions that were asking about relevance of previous experiences Answer Question
No Offer – Reviewed Nov 15, 2012
Interview Details – Not a bad interview per se. The interview questions seem to be all about why you want to work in media. I gave reasonable, well thought-out answers expressing my previous experience in media and interest level. But the person interviewing me apparently was not satisfied with my answer and continued asking me the same question repeatedly. Not sure what she was expecting.
Interview Question – - Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Answer Question
