Interviewed Jan 2011 in Santa Clara, CA (took 1 week)
Got a response within a week after applying online. Was then set up a phone interview, Phone interview was done by a very senior person (with 30+ years in industry), the guy was very cool. He asked mostly from my resume and a few C questions. After that got an onsite interview setup within a week. Had 4 1-1 interviews, 2 in the morning were easy was asked mainly simple c q's and about projects. afternoon interviews were tough , questions like traverse a binary tree without recursion and algorithms.

Passed resume at career fair where there were on the spot tests which the recruiter later noted. Then scheduled a phone interview with an engineer who asked one puzzle and two conceptual designs in addition to see if I understood basic terms. Later called for long on-site interview with multiple members of specific group who asked wind ranging questions from resume background, technical skills specific technologies that have been mastered.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Santa Clara, CA (took a day)
My interview with Nvidia consisted of a phone interview, a programming test, being flown out for a day of interviews on-site, and then being flown back out to interview with a second team.
I applied for the job through a friend who works there. After interviewing with his manager I was asked to complete a programming question via e-mail within 30 minutes and send him the response. This question was designed to test my knowledge of memory management and the C programming language.
All arrangements were simple and handled over e-mail with the recruiting coordinator. They made a reservation for the rental car, hotel, and airline tickets, and I had to pay and submit the hotel and rental car for reimbursement along with gas and meal charges.
I interviewed with 7 people during my first trip out and was asked a variety of technical questions from programming, to systems architecture questions. I was also given a wide opportunity to learn about the company, the product I would be working on, and what the culture is like at Nvidia.
I was declined an offer from this team based primarily on the time frame that I would be available on and the fact that they were looking for someone to start almost immediately and to ramp up quickly, but I received an offer to interview with a second team within the company that was much more established.
For my second interview I met with 3 individuals from the new team and it was very similar to the first time. Plenty of technical questions and opportunity to ask about other aspects of the company.
I would highly recommend you be familiar with C, developing on multi-core systems, and have a very good base in UNIX systems programming.

Make it thread safe.
Reason for Declining
I declined the offer based on the fact that I had a similar offer from another company and I had overall heard better things about the on-boarding and ramp up experience with that company.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a Background Check, a Skills Test, a 1:1 Interview and a Phone Interview.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Santa Clara, CA (took 4+ weeks)
Had two rounds of interviews for a software engineering manager position: one 45 minute 1:1 with a VP and then a full day of interviews with 7 different people for six hours. They also had an engineer as part of the interview who asked questions about linked lists.
The managers I spoke with were great. The big exception was the HR rep. He never got back to me and hasn't responded to several e-mails. Considering I spent seven hours with these people a decency of a response would have been appreciated.

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Santa Clara, CA (took 3 days)
a normal interview process with the team and manager. a variety of questions - mostly to gauge experience - no specific technical questions. interview process was split over 2 - 3 days because of availability. interviews were rescheduled near the end so really didn't know who I would be interviewing with until the last minute - therefore couldn't research interviewers

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Santa Clara, CA (took 1 week)
I applied through the university job search website. Then the company HR sent me an e-mail to schedule a phone interview. The engineer who was to interview me could not manage time to call me at the scheduled time and I had to reschedule with the HR rep.
The interviewer called me the second time, but he was 20 minutes early. That threw me off a bit. The interview consisted of very technical questions all concerned primarily with Digital Integrated Circuit Design. The interviewer did ask me about my experiences and interests and asked a couple of questions pertaining to my interests. He also asked a very basic algorithm question.
Overall a very technical interview. I would advice other interview candidates to just prepare well for technical questions. The overall attitude of the interviewer was not very open and friendly. It seemed very mechanistic in my opinion.
