Interviewed Mar 2012 in Santa Clara, CA (took 7 weeks)
Met a manager at a university job fair, I completed a skills test and he then grilled me on my answers for about an hour.
First phone interview was with the same manager, it was supposed to be 45 minutes but was very difficult and took an hour and a half, with one question alone taking about a half hour. I ended up doing four interviews in total, one at the job fair and then three phone interviews over four weeks. All took at least an hour, so when they say to schedule 45 minutes give yourself some additional time.
The process with NVIDIA is very frustrating. I think I was only supposed to have 3 rounds but their intra-company communication isn't very good, and then it took over three weeks after the last interview for them to decline me. I was left wondering if it was the accidental fourth interview that cost me the job!
They are notoriously rigorous in their selection process and you will feel it in the interview. If you get a question right they will press you until you screw up to test your limits. I think the interviews are best described as demoralizing, as they invariably will find your weaknesses.
All things considered, I was very impressed and came away knowing that the level of talent at NVIDIA must be consistently high and getting an offer would provide a great sense of accomplishment. Don't be alarmed if they don't contact you quickly, they're just (extremely!) disorganized.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Santa Clara, CA (took 5 weeks)
Applied via one of NVIDIA's research partners (I've sent my CV after my internship with recommendation letter from my mentor). Within 2 weeks they scheduled a phone interview with some manager who was very, very easy going person. I was given a "homework" - a simple assignment in C to do within 2 days. Just after they received my solution my second interview was scheduled (next week). This time I came across an even nicer person, a guy who had his interns last year and got hired after that. I was asked some technical questions, really easy ones and we spoke much about my project (he even ofered some help with that!). I'm so excited I got hired, because guys at NVIDIA seem to be very clever, yet easy going and friendly.
Interview Questions

And my task was to say what's wrong with this function, what's its purpose and what would I write my colleague who submitted it for a code review

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Santa Clara, CA (took 4+ weeks)
Applied online and got HR contacted me through email. I provided two, and apparently they misspelled one and I feel so fortunate that I gave them two. They setup a phone interview with senior manager. Another HR staff contacted me after 3 days for the offer package.

Interviewed May 2011 (took a day)
this was just the first round of interviews. The interviewer called me on my cell phone. he started with giving a brief description about the position and the responsibilities. He also described the group in general and what they work on. He then asked a few questions on simple logic and then some on C/C++ or algorithms.
