Interviewed Jun 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 months)
I met with the supervisor first then with other school managers who asked me questions concerning my thoughts about working with others in a fast pace environment. My willingness to work in collaboration with others and my feelings on being giving orders by others who maybe older or younger than myself. they were exspecially concerned with my thoughts and feelings about working with students who can be loud and rowdy at times.

Interviewed Aug 2008 in Brooklyn, NY (took a day)
Interviews were set up for me by the organization I was hired through. This was my third interview. So, you are essentially hired by the board of education pending qualifications, etc. Then, you interview at various schools and it is up to the principal of that school to hire you based on what they are looking for. This process can take the summer, so start early! Also, if you are hired by the department of education (DOE) then you will be paid with benefits for a certain period of time before you are officially terminated.
