Secretary Interview

Secretary
Lansing, MI

I applied online and the process took 4 months - interviewed at National Guard in January 2014.

Interview Details – I applied on usajobs.gov in October 2013... Received a call in January 2014 to schedule an interview for the following week. The interview was a five panel interview... (very different and a bit intimidating) First was asked numerous questions about my secretarial experience and the way I interact customers, problem solving, etc etc. the basics..........The interview lasted for about 15 minutes and every single attendee asked different questions

Interview Question – The were about 5 unexpected questions I had. I do not remember exactly what it was but it went something like "what is the title 00A1 regulation for DD23?" something really technical like that o_O ummm idk. Then interviewers knew I didn't know either I think that was more directed to the internal candidates.   View Answer

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 4 months - interviewed at National Guard.

Interview Details – Was able to do a phone interview since I was in another state at the time. Cost-saving was appreciated by each of us for sure. Very professionally conducted. Regulations were covered but the main thrust of the interview was spent asking what my motivation level was and why I thought that I would be a productive recruiter in a brand new area.

Interview Question – Would I be willing to locate to any area within the entire state.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I negotiated for a specific city within the state. Salary was already set based on grade and time in service.
