Interviewed Jul 2008 (took a day)
initally working with NTPC was a dream for me, i too got hte same. But after entering into the system , i found only handful of sound people. rest relies only on buttering and leg pulling and even superiors were of the same mental status forcing sub-ordinates to do their personal tasks

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Delhi (India) (took a day)
NTPC organises written exams every year. Out of lacs of people appearing in written test, they shortlist around 500-600 people in the ratio of 1:5. They interview shortlisted people on all ground like technical, HR etc. For success in interview, try to have overall knowledge of your subject and be confident in whatever you answer. They dont look for correct answer, infact they try to find whether you are able to convince them about your thoughts.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Delhi (India) (took a day)
The panel consisted of the director of NTPC and many top officials. They asked me a few technical questions from topics which they knew we had not been taught. They were impressed by my resume and therefore didn't interview me for long. Its very important to be confident and smart in the interview than doing well technically.
