Interview Details – Had to complete an online assessment and was then called in for an interview at the branch. Interviewed by a manager and supervisor. Only asked a few questions from a script. I didn't have to write an essay and I was told that part-time was only 20 hours per week and would pretty much require open availability since scheduling is done on business needs.

I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union in October 2013.
Interview Details – I was asked to complete an assesment online and then was set up for an interview. I interviewed with the branch manager, assistant manager, and general manager. Standard questions were asked and each was writing down the answer on their paper. I was not asked to write or answer an essay question nor was I asked if I had any questions to ask once they were completed. It was a very awkward interview, like they had who they wanted already picked out but was just going through the required steps. Was not impressed.
Interview Question – All questions were expected. How do you handle difficult situations and can you give us an example. Answer Question
I applied through a recruiter - interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union in September 2013.
Interview Details – Submit resume online. Human Resources will call to have you to take an online skills test. If interested, you will be called for an interview at one of the branches, but not necessarily at the branch which you applied. Generally, the interview is done based on the availability of managers on the interview days. However, recently NFCU has been using job fairs, where interviews are done immediately.

Negotiation Details – I didn't negotiate. Much of my salary was based on my college credits/degree and my prior employment (military).

I applied online and interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union.
Interview Details – I applied online, then two days later I received an assessment invitation through my e-mail. The assessment consisted of personality questions, customer service scenario q & a's and basic math/loan calculations. (percentages due on a bill etc) I got a call two and a half weeks later (holiday's in between) for an interview. I arrived early and was given some paperwork to fill out and sign, along with an essay. I completed all of it and the assistant manager came to meet me and take it. The manager was walking down the hallway and was very sweet to tell me not to be nervous. The AM then went in the conference room with the manager and they looked over my resume and paperwork. About 15 minutes after the scheduled apt time, they called me in and were very friendly. While they were professional, the interview seemed more like back and forth dialogue compared to q & a's. The questions were the easiest I've ever answered in my interview history. I prepared for the usual interview questions and there were actually none of them asked. They told me the history of the company in the beginning, asked about 7 questions and then explained what the position entailed and what was expected of me. From what I saw, I'm very excited to work with this team! I received a call less than a week later for the offer. Base pay is very impressive, the highest I've seen out of any company. If you have experience, they pay is higher than the base.
Interview Question – There was nothing that I didn't expect. Look at all of these interview tips for NFCU and do your homework. They really helped me for the most part. The essay didn't throw me off because I was expecting it after reading about it on here. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation, pay is more than any other company.
I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union in November 2012.
Interview Details – Applied online, then took my resume into the branch that I applied for. Next I received an email that had an assessment with it. Next I received a call from the branch manager for a interview. The interview was a typical interview with typical questions. Then you had to write an essay. Then I waited for like two weeks thought I did not receive the job. Then I received a call from the manager saying I got the job.
Interview Question – The essay was unexpected and the wait to hear something. They also had about 70 people apply for this position because it was full time and many times you only get hired part-time. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation- pay is more than any similar position at any other bank.

The process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union in December 2011.
Interview Details – Applied online and got an email back the next day for a personality test. Took the personality test and it took them 2 weeks to call me back for an interview for the next week. Went to a 3:1 interview and they had a list of about 20 interview questions they all went over with me one by one. At the end of the interview they told me that I would be contacted in 2 weeks if I got the position. It has been two weeks and no call back so I assume I didn't get the part.
