Accepted Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY Feb 2010 – Reviewed Jan 10, 2011
Interview Details – For the interview, I had 1 behavioral interview and 1 case interview. These were given by different people in the same department. I was asked questions like "what would your priorities be if you were Mayor of NYC...". I think it is important to read up on what projects EDC is currently involved in, New York City current events/politics, and to have a strong interest in and knowledge of City government projects. It also helps to have someone within the organization refer you. They receive so many applications that it helps to know someone to pull yours out of the pack.
Interview Question – What would you do as Mayor of NYC? What would your priorities be? How would you implement them? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Not able to negotiate hourly rate. I asked for several extra dollars, but they remained firm on the $15/hr rate
Other Details - I applied through an employee referral and the process took 1+ week.
Overall Neutral Experience
