    Neutral Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at New York & Company (Freehold, NJ) in June 2015.

    Interview

quick short brief interview with store manager, which was great we totally had the same way of managing which would have worked. than went 1 hr from the location i interviewed for with the store manager to have an interview with the District Manager, which was great but once she told me the amount of hours i would HAVE to work for a low salary, it was not worth the offer. Plus no wonder they can never keep employees, they pay is horrible and there are never enough hours for the associates. Plus they Push for Credit Cards wayyyyy to hard!

    Interview

It was fairly easy. I applied Wednesday , got a call back Friday and had a group interview Monday. Relaxed environment, managers seemed friendly then too. Not much to really write about this. The managers will seem friendly then but turn out to be the complete opposite when you're hired

    Sales Associate Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Jersey City, NJ

    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at New York & Company (Jersey City, NJ) in September 2014.

    Interview

It was relatively easy. After you apply to the job online, if they're interested, they call you in to have a face-to-face interview; if they like you after that, then they call you back so you can file paperwork and start working. If you apply once, and don't get hired, it'll be noted that you were interviewed before, and they might call you again next time they're looking to hire (at least that's what my store manager did). They asked how you might try to sell items to a customer and what you think of fashion (it's a clothing store, so what do you expect?). They explained the store duties and what's expected of you, then gave you a quick tour of the store and had you start greeting customers and cleaning a bit on your first day, once you finish signing all the paperwork.

    Sales Associate Interview

    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at New York & Company (Plainview, NY) in November 2013.

    Interview

The interview took about 20minutes. In all honesty the interviewee didn't specify me what to do besides being a cash rep and also cleaning the store. I was very surprised that she never mentioned to me about doing floor set at night. She was nice but we didn't talk about anything important
