Interviewed May 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took 1 week)
I went into a store and handed in my resume, and was then directed to the website to complete and application. Had an interview with a manager, then a second interview with a DSM. The DSM interview was slightly informal.

Interviewed Feb 2012 (took a day)
overall it was a fairly easy process. Nine West happened to be having interviews the next day and I was able to snag the last spot. I interviewed witht he regional manager I thought she was really pleasant! I could tell she genuinely was looking for someone who WANTED to work their and would ENJOY selling shoes. She asks me some general questions and we did a mock sale, but I could tell I hit it out of the park when she stopped mid-way and said you're hired! :-)

Interviewed May 2011 (took a day)
The store manager had actually forgotten about our interview so it went really smoothly. She just asked the basic interview questions and I got a call back a week after. I think she felt bad about forgetting about the interview so I think I got a bit lucky on that one.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 3 days)
I first recieved a phone call after not completing my entire application. I had to go out of town and was in a rush and couldn't finish the online application. I didn't think twice about it due to the fact that I had applied at a few other places. I recieved a phone call on my way out of town and the girl on the phone sounded completely uninterested. She asked me to come in for a 1:1 interview the next week.
I dressed in a fashionable business outfit: Black blazer, Rhinestone necklace, tight skinny black jeans and BGBC black ankle boots. This is my usual outfit for job interviews due to the fact that a lot of companys want their employees to wear black and you can never go wrong with it. I also try to wear a statement piece that looks like I'm certain in my style and something they can remember me by. This time it was my necklace.
I showed up and there were two girls in the store, I said I was here for a job interview. The other sales associate was extremely friendly and said this is Lauren and pointed to the manager. The manager didn't even introduce herself. I stuck my hand out to shake hers anyways. She put on a slight smile but barely said anything. She then escorted me to the hallway of the mall where we had our job interview. The sales associate stopped me herself to say hi. I was just suprised the one who was actually conducting the interview wasn't friendly.
The manager and I sat down and she then described all of her work experience, how she had been the manager of a lot of stores related to Nine West and such. She talked about herself for about ten minutes. I smiled politely and listened in on what she was saying but it took her a while before she actually got to the interview. She then asked me about my work experience, how I relate to people when I walk into a room, Why Nine West?, my salary expectations, and how much notice I'd need to come in. She said that I'd have to go to another location sometimes which is over 45 minutes away from the store I was applying at. Seeing as the price of gas is getting more and more ridiculous by the day, I know I couldn't do that.
She told me I'd be opening and closing and then asked me if I had questions. I asked a few questions like Would I ever be working in any stores associated to Nine West, What the shifts were like, and when I would start working if I got the job.
She never smiled, never laughed, never did anything that seemed friendly. This is a complete turn off to me due to other great interviews I've had with companys where I loved the staff themselves.
She then told me if I heard from them I had recieved the job. I'm not counting on it - and if they do offer I definately will decline. They almost seemed stuck up about the job and she seemed to look down at me. I'm sure not all Nine West locations are like this, it was probably just this stores staff. Just giving you a heads up!

Interviewed Sep 2010 (took 1+ week)
Overall, the process was relatively painless. I had an initial conversation with the Manager where she set up a "formal" interview with me later that week. That interview was with another sales associate and consisted of questions about my past work experience, hypothetical situations, and a mock sale. Both were very friendly and seemed encouraging. Something they both asked was why I wanted to work for Nine West specifically which I should have expected but was thrown for a little bit of a loop with. I got to talk to the manager by chance so I wasn't expecting to answer questions like that when I walked in the door asking if they were hiring.

it lasted an hour, basic interview questions. Why Nine West? what is your weakness? your strengths?
She spoke a lot about her experiences because she was a new manager at Nine West. Asked about my availability, my preferred wage.
