basicly they want to know if learning is somthing you consider as an asset then questions will offer them the opportunity to sound about it.
The fisrt round is a two time interview , the first one with a HRD representant, and the rest or the second time with one of the fund accounting department manager ( regularly the one you will work for ) this step depend on wich manager youhave in front of you as one of them is very technic and the second one just want to sound your analytical skills .
The second round is with the General deputy of the departement who just want to approve the constatation of his manager but it is just formal .

Negotiation Details
They know until where they want you to go then you have to have a good idea of your expectation and not drop it even if they want to show you that it is very high, show that you are open to negociation but that you have another proposition of another well known bank in Luxembourg. Keep unshakable on your aim.

Ideally Nomura has Phone filtering round before actual interview. They have 2 levels of Java Tests similar to SCJP and 1 DS & Algo Coding Test. These 3 acts as elimination round. Finally there are upto 3 rounds of face to face interview with the panel based on performance of previous test.

The first round of interview was on campus and it was just a 'getting to know each other' interview. I interviewed with 2 different teams ( so two 1:1 interviews). Both the interviews were just about my resume and also HR questions. Since the company has a small HR team.. there was a lot of dilly dallying after the interview. Eventually they scheduled a date and I went to NY for the second round of interview. I had three 1:1 interviews with different teams. It was slightly technical and a lot about my resume and grilling HR questions. In technical I was asked questions about outputs of some functions they wrote down, some about stochastics and a lot about projects and the kind of work I wanted to do.

2 different rounds (with two different interviewers - one HR and one Associate) - one round was cordial and friendly and the other started off as a stress round but (after, I assume, I answered the 'stress' question correctly) turned cordial by the end. All-in-all a very pleasant process - felt like I'd made new friends by the end of it.

The first round consisted of one thirty minute 1:1 interview. The interviewer went over my resume and asked about my interests, past, etc. The second round consisted of three thirty minute 1:1 interviews, back to back. The interviews were somewhat more intensive and included some hypothetical cases, but was similar.

I initially started my interview with Sales & Trading. Then they put me 2nd round of interview with Structuring group. Unfortunately, the interview slots were all filled out so they said they will conduct the interview via conference call.
Surprisingly, the interview was never conducted because HR forgot to set up, etc. It truly showed what failing companies are. As I'm not interested in such company, I gave up my second round interview and go to another.

Pre interview was rather good but HR did take a long time to get to us. They did recruit aggressively and the selling of the company was very good. But the interview process itself was rather undefined. Final interview consisted of competency questions. Nothing techical. Some interviewers were nasty.
