Only phone interviews. They contacted me directly and a few phone interviews were planned. Also got asked to go to their office to have further interviews. They really pushed me to accept the offer and they put more money every time I told them that I could not make my mind up.

Interviewed for a position with the Nordic coverage, the interview was in Stockholm even though the position was in London
Consisted of case interview with a second year analyst, questions of valuation, accounting, strategy analysis.
The other interview was about me as a person discussing my CV and motivations for applying. Furthermore I was asked some brain teasers.
The bankers were really positive and open to any questions.

I was a lehman employee looking to be hired for a position in the structuring team of nomura hong kong. There was a transition team of ex-lehman employees which had been hired by nomura who facilitated this process. They were looking to hire two people in the role and. i was interviewed first by an associate who checked my derivatives pricing skills and excel proficiency. After that I interviewed with a VP who talked about my programming knowledge and tested me for a fit. Then two MDs interviewed me, one from sales who was going to work with our team and the head of the structuring team. The sales MD asked about my presentation making skills. Since i had not done any such work previously, this got over very quickly. THe MD from the structuring talked to me about everything on my resume from top to bottom. An advice to interview candidates would be to be honest about your abilities and not exaggerate even a little bit on the resume as you will be grilled extensively.

I had no negotiating power. It was early 2009 and the very trough of the crisis. My advice to anyone in similar situation would be to take what you get until the times improve, when the firm itself will reward you for your work

Questions asked are fairly basic however vague and not sure. Interviewer assumes a set a model answers and a set route in attaining that answer. Any deviation from the model answer would be rewarded with a "you are not qualified look".
Interviewer only willing to give out namecard in the middle of the interview after 10+ technical questions asked in details. To be more precise the namecard seems would only given out if and only if the candidate attained a certain knowledge level criteria.
Personally so not like the company culture.

Overall, a positive interview experience. People i met were able to display a genuine interest in wanting to find out about the candidate, his/her views as well as his/her experience. People i met were also transparent in sharing key information such as (1) organisational hierarchy; (2) department's processes; (3) reason for opening; as well as (4) the challenges that will be encountered.
