    Application

I applied through college or university – interviewed at Nomura Securities.

    Interview

The interview process was fairly standard. Took place throughout February. The first round was one 30min interview with two VPs, one in SP sales and one in Equity Research. The final round was a superday in their NYC office with two MDs. I believe each was about half an hour, but they could have been longer.

    Interview Questions

    • Mostly fit questions. Honestly, I completely screwed up the first round technical questions (which weren't even that hard) because I didn't prepare properly, and was still invited back for the final round and eventually offered a job. I was asked how I would invest 1M dollars, what I think the position is, and my biggest strengths and weaknesses. In the final round I was asked a few brain teasers, nothing super technical though.   Answer Question

    Interview

Everything was fit oriented. Nothing technical, which was concerning since the person after me said he got a lot of technicals. Also, they never let me know if I got the offer or not, nor did they answer their telephones.

    Interview

It was just a phone interview with a Indian guy. I can barely understood what he said. Anyway, just catch the key words and give related answers, like teamwork, disagreement...

I applied through college or university. The process took a weekinterviewed at Nomura Securities in January 2015.

    Interview

I applied through my university's on campus recruiting process.

Had one 30-minute interview with an associate. Good mix of behavioral/fit and technical questions.

The interviewer was somewhat difficult to have a conversation with. This is something that makes the interview process unnecessarily uncomfortable.

Overall, not very difficult, but it was not smooth. Questions came straight from the Vault Guide and M&I Guide.

    Interview

I applied from school. It was an on campus interview. Interviewee just went over my resume, and ask few behavior questions. The whole process was fine. And we even talked about the weather in NYC. Questions were not difficult. Something like tell me about yourself, tell me about your experience, and who is your role model etc...

    Interview

At first, there was 2 months of meeting some bankers for informational interview sessions, attending various on campus seminars, and going to some happy hour events at some bars. Then I was invited to do an interview on the phone with a VP that I have met. I expected a very technical interview but it was more of an awkward one since it seemed they had already chosen who they wanted, which baffles then me why they gave me a phone interview when they were not interested.

    Interview Questions

    • So, what do you want me to do for you?! (Not at the end of the session but at the very beginning of the interview and in the middle of my sentence)   Answer Question

    Interview

Interviewer was a senior member of the company. Came to college campus for in-house interviews. Technical questions and behavioral questions. Very straightforward interview. Research on the company beforehand and possibly the interviewer too.
