I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Nordstrom.

Interview Details – I applied online. I received a call a few weeks after words to schedule a on phone interview. There is a system where you can schedule and reschedule your appointments. I received the call, the interview was very mono toned. It sounded like she was reading off a script. It was terrible.

Interview Question – How do you feel about working for commission? Describe a team leader situation.   Answer Question

I applied online and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Nordstrom in March 2014.

Interview Details – First went through a phone interview and then had an in person interview at the store. It was a group interview and afterwards had to pick an item and try to sale it to the HR manager.

Interview Question – The most difficult aspect was it being a group interview because I was unaware it was going to be set up that way. However, the interviewer was very friendly and made sure everyone was given the chance to answer the question. Make sure to prepare for basic personality questions like " a time when you did not meet a goal".   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation, Nordstrom was my first choice for an internship. Commission based

Easy Interview

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Nordstrom in February 2013.

Interview Details – The HR rep that interviewed me forgot about 2 of my 3 interviews. Very disappointing as I was over qualified for the internship and was offered the position at another store. She blamed it on the one hour time difference both times. One of my interviews took over a week for her to get back to me. I hope that this only reflects on the store I was applying at because my Nordstroms in my hometown is nothing like that.

Interview Question – I did all of my interviews via phone because I was applying for a store in Boston, but live in Dallas, TX - so the part where you have to pretend to make a sale was difficult over the phone because I had to talk about fake merchandise.   Answer Question

I applied online and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Nordstrom.

Interview Details – I first applied online and sent my resume. When you apply online you also take a short personality test. Be sure to take your time on this and really think about the answers. This is the first thing they use to weed people out. Once you past the online application, they will send you an email asking to set up a phone interview. The phone interview last about 30 minutes. It was someone from the Nordstrom Seattle Headquarters. It was basic questions, just trying to get to know you. They will ask you why you want to work for Nordstrom. They asked me to give them examples of a time I showed leadership skills, what my favorite designer was. Once you past the phone interview, they will email you and tell you the date of your in person interview. It was just a one on one interview with the human resource manager of one of the Nordstroms in Dallas. She asked me similar questions as the phone interview. They ask you about your previous work experience.

Interview Question – During the in person interview she asked me to sell her something I was wearing.   Answer Question
