No Offer – Interviewed in Tacoma, WA Mar 2013 – Reviewed Mar 9, 2013
Interview Details – I have now gone through 4 interviews with Nordstrom, 3 at Tacoma and 1 at Southcenter, have communicated by 2 HR personnel, 6 other employees and referred to one department by another, and still only received feedback from 1 interview. I sent thank you cards to anyone who I was involved with but it's been pretty disappointing so far. I don't know why they'd string you along if they had no intent of hiring you.

I applied online and was contacted about a week later for a phone interview. The phone interview was about 10 minutes long and consisted of questions about my past sales and customer service experience as well as why I wanted to work for Nordstrom. At the end of the interview she told me I would be receiving a call from the hiring manager to schedule a second interview.
The hiring manager called me 10 minutes later to set up an interview for two days later in store. This interview was similar in asking about overall customer service skills as well as how motivated I would be as a seller. I was also given a selling scenario on the floor which was a lot of fun

I've always wanted to work for Nordstrom because it is one of my favorite stores and I constantly hear that it is a great place to work for! I applied online for multiple positions and became a bit discouraged as I was getting a lot of automated emails saying that I wasn't selected for an interview. Then, I was finally contacted about a Cosmetic Artistry position that I had applied for. An email prompted me to schedule a phone interview.
An HR associated called me at my interview time and asked many questions regarding my skills and experience. He also asked me questions pertaining to the job description.
I received a call from a Department Manager the next day to set up an in-person interview. I was confused at first because she had called me from an apparel department and my interview had been a full-time position in cosmetics. My interview questions were all pertaining to cosmetics as well. Nonetheless, I was excited for the opportunity so went in for the in-person interview scheduled for a week later.
The interview lasted about 45 minutes. She asked some of the same questions as the HR associate so I felt very prepared.
She called me back the next day to tell me that there would be a formal job offer pending background and reference check. I received the offer a couple days later!
