Interviewed Apr 2011 in Schaumburg, IL (took a day)
The entire interview took about 6 hours. I met with 5 different managers, as the program I interviewed for could potentially put me under 3 of them. Questions ranged from generic to interesting. One manager was more interested in my skills, one more interested in my resume, another more interested in my educational and lifestyle background. Overall I had a very positive experience during and after the actual interview but was extremely disappointed when I did not hear back from them (when I was told that I would be notified either way at the end of the month.) I tried e-mailing HR 2-3 times without receiving a reply.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Rolling Meadows, IL (took a day)
They called me and acted as if I had made a previous commitment to fly there and interview, as if they had talked with me before. They hadn't. I flew there the next week. I arrived at 8, I was given a schedule and was interviewed by HR and several managers and given a lunch ticket for the cafeteria during lunch. The building was huge and I had to be escorted from place to place. I ended the day at HR and they made me a verbal offer, which I said I would consider. They paid for airfare, hotel and car. I flew home the next day, my offer letter came in the mail within a week and I declined due to insufficient salary.

Interviewed May 2008 in Rolling Meadows, IL (took a day)
I was initially contacted by a hiring manager. This person informed me that the company wanted me to come in for an interview and set me up with the travel coordinator. The travel coordinator organized a mutual beneficial date of travel for the interview. However, the travel coordinator did not ask for any preferences on times of travel, airline, or hotel. The travel arrangements were to fly out the night before, a few hours of interviews the next morning, and fly out the next afternoon. I would have appreciated as much extra time as possible to get to see the surroundings to figure out if I would actually want to move there or not.
There were four interviews, each a half hour. Lunch was supposed to be included, but each of my interviews ran long and the interviewer that was supposed to take me to lunch did not appear to know that they were supposed to. Only one of the interviewers would be in my chain of command. The others were managers in the company. Two were clearly disengaged and showed no interest in the interview and the third was rather stoic. All of the interviewers had very bland, rudimentary, and typical interview questions. It felt like Groundhogs Day answering the same interview questions four times over.
It seemed that none of the interviewers knew each other and were located throughout the building. This meant that it took up to 10 minutes to be ushered from one interviewer to another (more frequent then not involving getting lost). This added to the disorganized and institutionalized feel of the company.

Negotiation Details
The position I was applying for was an entry level position and all of my interactions with the company ran through a hiring coordinator. A few weeks after the interview, the hiring coordinator informed me that the company was going to extend me an offer. Once the initial offer arrived, I called back the hiring agent. I told him that I was very interested in the position, but the offer would not cover the increased cost of living. The agent said that if I would like, I can decline the offer and he would pass on my comments to the people who set the salaries. I had to sign a form saying that I was declining the offer before I had a chance at a second offer. It turns out that a second offer arrived that met my predetermined salary requirements, so I accepted the second offer.
