Patient Care Technician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Chicago, IL Mar 2009 – Reviewed Dec 30, 2010

Interview Details – I would suggest to candidates to keep applying to get your name seen. I applied 5 times before they called me in. It is best to find out who the recruiter is and then send them a cover letter and resume. DONT FORGET to send a thank you letter after the interview. After all it helped me land the job. Firt the candidate interviews with the HR recruiter. If you do well they take you to the manager of where you want to work. If not, they tell you we will contact you (but they will not) and they tell the manager you weren't a fit.

Interview Question – What three words best descibe you?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – PCTs do not get a negotiated pay. There are in the union and have set pay rate no matter how many years of service a person has.

Software Developer at Northwestern Memorial Hospital

No Offer – Interviewed in Chicago, IL Sep 2009 – Reviewed Oct 3, 2010

Interview Details – They were not ready for the interview. The interview was performed in a cramped room, with 3 people packed in. The only person who had any technical knowledge ignored my questions and left after 10 minutes. They made it clear that there was no opportunity for advancement. I felt that they had low opinions of the position that I was applying for. It was clear after a short period of time that I did not want this job.

Interview Question – They asked several questions relating to SQL database queries. The interviewer gave an example database on paper, and asked the result of a left join. These questions weren't really unexpected, and that was about as difficult as it got.   Answer Question
