Interviewed Apr 2012 in San Diego, CA (took 4+ weeks)
My first interview was supposed to be with just one HR lady, but one of the Agents that worked there decided to sit in my interview for some reason. The interview went pretty smoothly as I got along with both of the people pretty easily. They ask basic interview questions in the realm of sales. From there I accepted a second interview which was a group/panel interview. there were 3 panel members and about 8 interviewees. The position was for an internship, and me only having 2 classes about to graduate I felt I was way over qualified as most of the people interviewing were freshman sophomores or juniors and I was a 5th year senior. From the questions other people were asking I could tell I was much more qualified. The interview commenced with them giving us this "Rhino" Project in which we were supposed to get 15 peoples numbers that we could "use as future references" (basically people to sell insurance too). The job was 100% commission and the idea of making a living off of initially selling insurance to my friends and family members was dumb.

Northwestern mutual interview process was fairly straight forward. Had a initial interview, with what seemed to be a secretary (attractive), who asked general, scripted questions. After that interview you meet with a real agent and he sort of feels you out and makes sure he likes you.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in New York, NY (took 3 days)
I posted my resume on Monster.com and was contacted by a NWM recruiter. She asked some resume questions, if I am interested and if I would like to continue with an on sight interview. While there she asked mainly easy, resume questions. The first one was what do you know about our company and second, how do you deal with rejections. It was mainly her advertising the company; they explain the interview process well so you know what you get into. It is a 3 year sales job of only insurance products. On the 2nd stage of the interview you have to come up with a 100 contacts that would buy insurance from you and make a presentation on how you will get to selling it.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
Wrong industry. Not analytical.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in New York, NY (took 3 days)
Stanard 1:1 interview. Standard insurance sales job I gather. From what I can tell the retention rate in this industry is very low; 11%? so the recruiters are very aggressive.
The pay is $300.00 a week
Financial advisors pay for out of pocket expenses etc.
Too much like a pyramid scheme for me

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Irvine, CA (took 5 days)
The interview went well and the interviewer was very good at making me feel comfortable and then emailed me almost immediately after saying it went really well. Then you have to take a personality/compatibility test and after which I apparently didn't respond to well. I think that that can be a decent method of evaluation but if the in-person parts go well then the electronic evaluations should not be the only factor that can eliminate you, especially since there are 4 rounds of interviews for them to figure you out.
Interview Questions
I just found this difficult to answer and wasn't sure what kind of answer they were expecting or looking for.

Interviewed Jan 2011 (took a day)
Interview process from my experience clearly seemed to be a waste of time. I only took the 1st interview which was a phone interview. it lasted for an hr and a half. after the phone interview the HR sent me a huge package where i had to fill out 100 potential clients to build up my "clientele" after that i was suppose to go i n for a 1:1 interview and also a presentation. Which i decided not to follow up onto the process since it seemed like such a waste of time

Very nice people. Asked about background, education, and prior experience. They will try and sell you on what Northwestern does and the money that can be made by doing the job. Two online evaluations had to be completed which tested whether you are the right fit for the position.
