Interviewed Jun 2011 (took 1 week)
I submitted my resume through a job website, and was contacted via telephone within a few weeks. An interview was scheduled, and it lasted roughly an hour. The HR rep was very encouraging and seemed interested to get to know you. After this interview, I was given a personality assessment to complete online and submitted.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
The recruitment officer came across my linkedin profile. There was brief phone interview, we scheduled a f2f interview couple of days later. The interview was pretty straighforward. Short presentation of the company, some info about the interview/hiring process etc. After the interview there are some online personality tests to do.Usually the process takes 3-4 weeks, multiple interviews/meetings with mentors, other executives etc.
The position is based on friends and family kind of network and commission based.

Interviewed Mar 2010 (took 3 weeks)
I applying for the intern financial representative position. Started with a lot of phone tag to see what your phone voice is like and to see if you could continue following up with people. This was then followed by an easy interview with the HR lady who liked me and set up an interview with the College Unit Director. The CUD liked me so an interview was set up with the managing partner. At the interview with the managing partner i had to make a presentation, After some q & a i was offered the internship and i accepted. Overall they are looking to see if you know wealth people you can sell there products to. If you know wealthy people..... you can get the job. I have heard that in some places they won't interview you if you have the wrong zip code. overall i had the right background, but after the summer i decided not pursue this as a career.

Interviewed May 2011 (took 4 days)
Excellent process all together. Clear communication in all aspects to know what information was needed and when. Challenges were part of the process, i.e. conducting market surveys to obtain perception of the insurance industry from the population as well as referrals to conduct additional surveys. Recruiter and Managing Director very professional in all dealings. Timely communication. Office environment very pleasant and professional.
Advice: This position is an independent contractor position so you need to be sure you have entrepreneurial drive. The market survey is key for you to know if you can handle meeting face to face with strangers, questioning, listening and obtaining good leads.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in New York, NY (took 2 weeks)
The entire hiring process consists of 4 interviews: first interview, with two representatives, they tell you about the company, describe the position, training, etc.
After first interview they give you a homework: you have to create a list of people you know, the more the better! They also send you an online assesement. It is not a problem solving test. Completing this assesment is used in order to get to know the candidate. It lasts 1-2 hours.
In second online assesment you have to provide a list of characteristics, and you have to choose ones that describe you most.
If you pass the assesments, they invite you for the second interview, almost next day after completion. Second interview lasts for about 1 hour, 1:1. Routine interview questions.
Third interview : you meet with the peers, and ask them about the company, workload, etc. And finally, the fourth interview... is celebration. You meet the President, open a bottle of champaigne and they welcome you to the Family.
Overall, peopla are very polite, smile, joke. Relaxed atmosphere.I had a feeling as it was a friendly conversation.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 4+ weeks)
Pretty straight forward. Just be yourself and you will find out if this job is for you. It takes a certain type of individual to be successful. Do not put on a fake presentation of yourself because if you are not honest with yourself you may fail at this kind of job. Questions were behavioral based and why you are choosing to go into this industry. You should be wanting to help people when you go into this industry and not just for the money because it does pay well down the road. Keep in mind that it takes A LOT of hard work and you will be working 60-70+ hours a week most of the time for 5+ years to really get something like this going. You are basically a slave to your job for a while but once you have it going the job gets nicer for you. Be prepared to develop presentations and conduct surveys and large contact lists (it is what you need to succeed). If this job is right for you then go for it. If you have any doubts definitely think it over. You don't want to jump right into a 100% commission job and not have a decent savings and/or backup plan if it does not work out. Best of luck and remember to evaluate pros and cons through the interview because this kind of job can be extremely rewarding if you listen and do what your mentors tell you too but there is definitely risk as seen with the high industry turnover rate. Fantastic company, great products, great job if its the right match with you.

Make sure that you're in for SALES. Apparently marketing experience is not considered sufficient experience for sales. They'll ask what's your impression of the finance industry, what made you consider a career with them, why sales, where do you see yourself in the next 5 years, etc. Your network is very important to them because their work is based on the circle of people you already know and of course referrals after you've succeeded selling to your clients.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 2 months)
The interview process is a 3 step process.
The first in person interview was basically you finding out what the company did and how they did it.
The second interview went into the pay, and what they expect from you. They also give you homework to find out what it is like to be a financial representative.
The third interview goes over your homework and gives you an offer
