Interviewed Jun 2011 (took 3 weeks)
The initial interview took place over the phone with a financial services representative; the second interview was held at a branch office with a financial sales representative; and the third and final interview was also at a branch office, this time with one of the branch managers.

Reason for Declining
I carefully weighed my age, station in life, and the start-up costs associated with running my own business. I also took into consideration the way I relate to people, i.e. how comfortable I am in groups, meeting new people, and selling life insurance.
Other Details
I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Skills Test and a Personality Test.

Interviewed Nov 2010 (took 4+ weeks)
There are four interview stages: first was the initial phone interview. Met with a recruiter who knew a good deal of whatever I asked. She then sent me home with 2 personality test. The second interview should you pass the test is with the recruiter again then with a one on one with the managing partner so you can get a feel for each other and the atmosphere within the office. The third interview is with you potential feild director or mentor, then a Ono on one with a younger rep with experience to ask any questions you may be hesitant on asking anyone else and they will give it to you straight. Should you be asked for a fourth interview, this is where they ask you to come aboard. They will give you time but I accepted right away. Good decision

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Lawrence, KS (took 3 weeks)
The company contacted me through my profile on the university career website. 1:1 interview with the recruiter followed by a series of personality tests done via the web. Came in for a second interview and a meeting with the local branch manager. Assigned to interview 15 people about their opinion of the financial planning/services industry.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Milwaukee, WI (took 3 weeks)
Pretty legit, interviewer seemed real easy going and nice. Me and the recruiter met at a college career fair, and then asked if she could interview next week on campus. Once I knocked that interview out they gave me the "Project 10". They had called about a week later to see how everything was going and kind of touch base with me, and then set up a final interview at my choosing. Had the final interview and it was pretty standard, office was very nice. Then they gave me an offer.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Aventura, FL (took 2 weeks)
It was a lot about them telling you about their company. They asked a few questions but they we're designed to make you feel comfortable to find out about your communication skills. They did not intimidate and they made it clear that they do not discriminate because of lack of experience.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took 4+ weeks)
Take personality assessment, meet with office point of contact (total joke, 1st meeting serves solely as a screening process). Wait 2 weeks for a person of authority to get around to calling ou back, review personality assessment, and meet several more times until you ask for the job. NML wants you to show your motivation by going after the position vs. having it offered to you. Then, series of meeting re compensation structure (you get a $4,000 signing bonus and realisticaly can expect to make $0 in commission your first 2 months). There are no benefits, insurance is expensive, and you pay monthly fees just to sit at your cubicle. The "average" first year commission management will sell you (I was told $67,000) is not realistic. The average 1st year NML rep makes $15,000 before paying office expenses and paying for health insurance.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Waterloo, IA (took 5 weeks)
Very non-threatening. They literally recruited me by calling me out of the blue and asking me if I wanted to find out more about Northwestern (aka an interview). The recruiter was very positive during the interview and things went really well. I'm waiting on getting a 3rd interview. I feel confident this company will be a good fit for my skill set. I guess I'll have to wait and see how everything turns out.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Clinton, NJ (took 3+ weeks)
Contacted by HR women to come in for interview with Managing Director. 1st interview was all about explaining the Mutual Fit process about the company and career. After that took and personality test online and came back in for 2nd interview, was told how I was a perfect fit for this career. After asking questions about compensation I found out the position is 100% commission based and they require candidates to fill out 10 market survey's that require you to interview family and friends in your network and analyze if they would be good clients for you in the future to sell their products to. Ended the interview process after this, didn't want to start my career selling life insurance as a recent college grad with virtually no network of potential clients.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
Sounded very promising at 1st with awards NWM has one for best place to launch career but ALL-commission based salary is challenging for recent college grad to start off with.
